Congrats on the new times guys

I replaced a few more parts on my truck so I happen to have a hub and an unused 6 lb pulley and belt sitting here if somebody wants to try it

Yeah, I know about the hard lid. As a 12.7 truck the lid was always taken off at the drag strip. Here in oxygen rich western Washington the truck was a consistent 12.7 truck. Anywhere from 12.73 to 12.79. That was with a canned Predator tune.

With the MafIA and a custom tune the Wizard massaged that puppy to a 12.51. Two tenths came off its time. That's with the lid on so yeah I feel good about a 12.4 without the lid. In general every 100 pounds is worth a tenth so without that lid on it should be worth somewhere between .07 and .1.

The lid has stayed on for CCCA bracket racing as to me it's more about consistency than the best ET. One of these times though maybe I'll get the lid off and see what she'll do.

That 6 lber makes me nervous as I see from 14 to 16 PSI with a 4lber. Again, generally speaking it seems the stock rods can get real unhappy real fast with more than 16 psi pushin' agin'em. Doc, comments ?

Rather than push the boost on the Eaton causing more heat to the intake charge by overspinning the poor thing a better option would be a Whipple. A more efficient design and less heating of the intake charge. I'll pass on a KB as one, they're ugly, two customer service seems questionable and has for years, and three it seems to many of them have to get sent back in for "issues" too often.

With that out of the way a pair of them new TFS heads with these cams I got layin' around and a set of rods and lets pump up that Whipple.......for the 11 second zone......

As soon as I posted that I started worry'n bout valve springs....which....gets us back to con rods

PS....if you put that parts list on your truck, you may just skip over the levens

We might as well start building the other engine on the stand. No reason to pull what you have until its ready for a swap!

12.51 is as fast as he is going. He will never be faster even if he builds another motor In fact, I think it is time we slow him down a touch.

A reminder fer youse guys. Next CCCA race at Bremerton is June 6th. With my tuner on motorscooter.com these days I'll probably NEVER see that 12.4.

Meanwhile I had an attack of the oldtimers disease and missed the May 15 race at Pacific Raceways ! There was another one May 29 but I was in Meridian watchin' the open wheel guys bust up a couple of cars. First race jitters of a new season an all ya know but they were racin' fer a custom made diamond ring.....

Real good day overall again ! Went out Friday eve and made 4 runs then got 2 TT's Saturday before competition. Took out a '69 Z28 Camaro first round. My dial at 12.64 his at 12.00. Second round I had a Riviera with a cowl hood. My readjusted dial at 12.69 to his 12.15. Found another way to lose with a 12.678. He was soooooooo close at the finish line I tapped the brakes a little late. Breakout by 12 thousandths !! My bad reaction time got me on that one too. Had a .146 reaction to his .180. First round was reasonable with a .076 reaction time. Learned a little more about gettin' a big chicken or a little chicken. Seems one of the Ford Drag Team (FDT) guys has a nickname for everything and the trophies for 1st and 2nd for the day are termed "chickens" ! Don't know why but they are.

Hung around to get to know some of the FDT guys and one of "ours" got to the finals. The FDT guy was runnin' a mid 70s' Ford shortbed junk yard dog kinda truck. He stuck a 460 in it and dialed at a 14.54. Ran real consistent all day and waded through around 60 cars. On his semi final run he clicked off a 14.54 with a 2 ! I told him after that run, "Hey, piece of cake, ya had two thousandths cushion !"

It was Chevy day at the track so there was WAY to many of those everywhere ya looked. I pitted next to a front engined dragster and visited with him on Friday and Saturday. Runnin' methanol with the grape scent. A couple of you guys remember that from last time !

Next CCCA race is June 12th at Pacific Raceways (I'll be in Roseburg, OR for sprint car racin') then July 10th at PR then July 25th at Bremerton.

Perhaps.......I can get that Killer Chiller on in time fer one of those in July...

Knew I forgot to comment on sumthin. SVT tommy stopped by the pits and we chatted for awhile. He was runnin' Friday night with his .....um I don't know the model but a Chevy mid sized SUV with a LS2 engine.

Saturday Mark Matheson stopped by my pits too ! First time out for the latest iteration of his Corvette. Twin turbos !! He and two of his buddies were out for some runs. All 3 'Vettes have the same setup and a red one was sorted out. Clickin' off low 10s. Mark was easin' into it and I did see an 11.14 up on the scoreboard one time.

It was kinda like old home week from 4 years ago. Great to see ya both Tom and Mark !

Meanwhile I gotta replace the O2 sensor in the Gen 2. It finally died from all the rich A/F according to Innovate. Got around a month to get it ready for the next round of CCCA.

Hey, does a new mile per hour count for anything? Clicked off a 109.11 on one run back a few weeks ago. Nuttin' new on ETs though.
