oook little problem- any ideas?

Well its been a while since I've posted but hopefully the PNW Lightning gurus will forgive me and impart some of their knowledge on me.

I started up the truck to go for a drive monday, and noticed it was running a little rough. When I got to the freeway on ramp and started accelerating there was a strong misfire and the CEL started flashing at me. I babied it home and pulled the codes; its throwing a P0308 which is Cylinder #8 Misfire Detected according to my list.

I pulled and changed plugs in both 7 and 8 for comparison, and both looked perfect. Took it for a drive around the block and nothing had changed.

So I thought maybe a bad injector. I swapped injectors from 6 and 8, cleared the DTC's and went out for another drive. Again it threw a misfire cylinder #8 code.

Any ideas what it could be? Thanks guys!

Only thing that comes to mind right now is a bad COP. I'm sure more knowledgeable guys and gals will come along and give you more things too look at.

I agree that it probably is a Coil Pack. My advise is to swap the coil from #8 to another cylinder that is easy to get to. Clear the code and drive again. If the code returns to the different hole you know the problem! Tom
