Cams

does anyone know what kind of cam the original lightning motor has in it? roller, hydraulic or mechanical? and what would be a good cam setup for a supercharger, i am planing on getting the stock heads rebuilt and port and polished.

the trucks came with a flat tappet hydraulic cam.
94-95 had roller ready blocks a few 93 did also. so if you have a roller ready block than the cheap good route is a mustang 5.0 H.O. roller cam and 1.7 ratio rockers. Its been proven.
There is better cams out there if you want to speacial order one, and this is the way to go if money isn't to big a prob.
search (roller block) and there is a way to tell without taking the engine apart.
I allready had this cam laying around, so I figured I may as well use it since the heads were getting swaped.
Jeffro has allready done this to his gen 1 and is happy with it.
Jeff claims he has to much power and it scares him.

Look for F4TE at the beginning of the casting code on the block. If it has this,.....then it's a roller block. You should be able to find the number by the starter.
