Yes, I think. I want just the center section for 3rd seat capability. The plan is to keep the 3rd seat but add two after market seats. The 3rd seat would not be connected to the after market seats. Something like a pair of Recaro or Corbeau seats.

Thanks Eric. Used a number of your posts on other threads and sites to help me along so thanks for your expertise and posting the same !

Holding off on covering the lid on the console as I don't know what I want for sure yet. Thanks for the offer though to get it covered !

You are SOOO going to love that thing once it's in for good. I can't believe that I drove mine for so long without it. Ford really should've made em this way to begin with, it just feels that natural and right. Good work on it buddy!
What material did you choose for filling the holes? I just want to permanently attach the cupholder cover, sand the handle down smooth, then fill all of the holes to make the entire back panel smooth. It will not need to be perfect for paint, but it will need to be good enough to attach vinyl to.

Project FINALLY completed ! Been lookin' and thinkin' about the center console lid. Took around a year or so but I saw what I was lookin' for (at least in my mind) and discovered a version of the SVT logo that caught my interest. Eric (RIDE THE) brought my ideas to life. Wet Okole material on the outer edges with the basket weave leather down the center and a stylized SVT embroidered on. Came out JUST AS I HAD VISUALIZED.

Well, the lid arrived today (6-22) and wasted no time in gettin' it on.

Wanna see ?

wow scott, hadn't seen this thread yet, looks fantastic. a lot more "sport-truckish" than a bench seat.

The "best" console is the 2000 to 2002 Expedition console. It is the "wide" one. The 1997 to 1999 is the "narrow" one. The narrow ones should be easier to find and less expensive. The wide ones both look better and have more storage space in them. It is VERY DIFFICULT to find a grey one, most I've seen are the tan color and get repainted. Either console will fit your 2000 L.

And man, did you drag up an old thread !

Here's a link to a how to thread that uses the narrow console. You can compare that console with the pics in this thread to see the differences.

Thanks Nick. If you go lookin' back through WashLO you'll find quite a few interesting threads over the years.

This "mod" is one of those that the factory just "should have done" as most of those that have done it would say. There are those that need the seating capacity for three people but for those that don't this is just a natural for the truck.
