Cool Its time to ask that question

What mods are you planning for next year?

I'm currently over driving the crap out of my supercharger (bigger, bigger lower pulley and smaller upper pulley) and just ordered a really trick alcohol injection system that was on a group buy over on TurboBuick.com.

My thinking is that the methanol will cool the intake charge and stop detonation on pump gas. The buick guys are running over 20lbs of boost on 92 octane with this setup.

You are always up to something Dale.
Bernie, trust me you will be there in the low 13's or better no problemo!

My mods are going to be: 2nd hand GT-40X heads hopefully with a full exhaust port job and a new 1.6" valve. Steeda boltdown adjustable shaft rockers, and will have to find a taller valve cover and probably use a phenolic spacer. Keeping stock cam. Hopefully I can get by without spending another $100 on a fuel pressure regulator.
I'm hoping for a high 12 slip.

I don't know what your plans are, but if you need a shop that knows small ford stuff and can do it right, I would call Dave Bliss. Rod has been to his shop before and knows how to get there (its in Puyallup).
Just a thought

Thanks Dale,
Small world though. I talked to Dave about a month ago, I found him to be personable and willing to take his time on the phone with me. When I get the heads, I'll take them down for a look see. Thanks Dale.

Steve,Dave has a real nice shop with a engine dyno,Flowbench etc.He is in the Handlers club at Bremerton Raceway and I dont know if you have seen his turbocharged Small block Ford dragster. It runs 7s and that would be a fun ride.Let me know if you want to go out there and I will show you how to get there.

Cool

Hi Steve
John has done some flow work and some minor port work for me in the past. He is one of the best around and also a great guy.
I think sometimes I take something out to his place to have him work on it just so I have a chance to pick his brain and BS with him.
He's cutting edge as far as technology goes, He's really on top of whats going on. The only reason I didn't mention him before is because of price and his work back load. If he has a lot of work to do, it will be hard to get your stuff in the door.
The last time I was out there (mid summer) he was redesigning the ports in a set of Edelbrock heads for a 427 ford and taking molds of the ports and then sending them back to Billy Gliddon for analysis. Purty cool chit it you ask me.
Also he likes Lightnings, give him a call

Dale and Rob,
Well John Haskell has the 40X heads. I dropped them off for a look see today.
He is going to let me know his recommendations soon. I think he is going to play with them on the flow bench. I expect to get one of his premium multi -angle valve jobs and some exhaust bowl magic, but his price will determine what I get. Anyways, you were right he is a hell of a nice guy and we benched race for about an hour and he showed me all his projects. I get the impression he does alot of "upper end" stuff for big time racers, but my impression is he is not forgetting about the little guy either, will see.
Also, Dale get a hold of him, I was talking to him about head work on the 5.4's. While everyone on the list is making power with more boost(you included), I'm sure there is some power unpacking in those heads. He seemed very interested in GEN 2's and the prospect of making power for them. Maybe you can be the guinea pig?BTW, I told him you are now low 12's and he seemed really excited.
Later
for now,
Steve
PS soon to enjoy the 12's

Hi Steve
John must have something on his mind, I got home tonight and there was a message from him, so I gotta call him.
You won't be sorry you took your heads to him, he will make them work.

Sorry I just saw this post. Well come Augaust I will be moving back to the other side of the mountins, back to the Tri-Cities. I have a older home over there that my wife and I are going to be investing some money into. Guess that means my lightning will not have the buget that I was hoping for this year. What I am hoping for is an off road X pipe, electric fans and 1/2 drop. That is not too much to ask for. With that set up and what I have I want to be hitting the mid 14's.

Jr nice website. I like your "L" better after the BellTech drop, looks good.
I believe stock 00's dynoed in the high 320's and low 330's. I tell you what, we are having Dyno wars here in Tacoma in early March, come on down, there were 25 last year.
