Post SuperCharged Stangs....

Hey guys....just Curious if any of you have a S/C Stang....I have some ?s for ya.

Do you have to change to Felpro Head Gaskets or will the stock ones hold up to 10 psi?

2 is there any thing I should Suspect from the Charger install?

3 will I need bigger Injectors and a new Mass air Sen.

and last, I m thinking about the Pwoerdyne unit since it seems to be the Cheapest.... Does anyone know of a better deal???

Thanks guys!

LKillerRT,
Ok, as must as I do not like your Username I will give you some advice... hahah J/K Anyway, I have a 1988 GT with a 1995 GT Bottom End in it... I have a KenneBell 9psi Blower on this car with Edelbrock heads and just about everything else you can possibly imagine. Anyway, I used the Felpro Head gaskets when I put this motor together and they work great but if you are planning on only doing about 9 or 10 psi I would not bother changing the gaskets unless the motor needs it... How many miles on the car??? Also I do recommended Powerdyne, they are inexpensive but very good quality and no maintaining it... Also the install is very easy... I would go with there 9psi kit and call it a day... It would give you a 100 or so HP addition and plenty of fun... What other mods do you have???

Whats up man?? Havn't talked to you in a while! But seriously, I think you should be good to go if you buy a blower! Is it going to be on the 96 GT you have? If so it will hadle the boost nicely. And on the stock set up all you should need from what my friends have done, is that you'll be okay on all OEM set up! Just bolt it on and go! Just be sure when you take it out for the first time that you have turned your boost retard down, better safe than sorry!

About the Powerdyne unit........Don't waste your money, they are junk!!!!! You'll end up breaking that thing with a quickness, if you miss a gear or two! They don't like to rev high, and the 4.6 is a rev happy motor, so you do the math! That ceramic bearing locks up and causes the internal belt to break, then chunking the trubin into your intake= not so good on the pocket book!

I'd buy a Vortech personally! I'd also stay away from procharger, the reason is, at least with a fox 5.0 they are a PITA to install! JMO.........later man!

Cool

And make sure you have enough fuel. You may have to go to 24 pound injectors, upgrade to at least a 155 if not a 190 lph (my preference) fuel pump, and definitely an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure and boost gauges. What mods do you have done to it right now? My 5-speed 96 GT ran a 15.0@94.4 w/2.4 60ft. w/3.73s, K&N cone w/o air silencer, and no muffler or tailpipes (turndowns in front of axle). I don't know if you'll need to upgrade the ignition or not. Keep that in mind, too.

Fuel is with out a doubt the most important issue... 190 pump, 24 injectors, maybe a FMU... Vortech or paxton is the best, but I am sure the Powerdyne unit would work OK as well... I guess it depends on your driving ability and style... I do not drive that hard so I would probably not have a problem with the Powerdyne unit but like the guys said above, if you miss a shift it could be problems so take that into consideration... JMO and best of luck, let us know what happens and which you chose...

May want to consider the PI head and intake swap. That plastic intake isn't gonna enjoy all that force fed air. Then again, you're not running too much boost. Just letting you know the intake may give you problems further down the road. PI heads and intake paired up with a blower would make for quite a beast. Check the corral to see what kind of results people are getting, you'll be impressed. Good luck with your setup.

Cool

The PI heads and the Bullitt intake would be the way to go for N/A. Even the 99-up intake is the crap plastic. Has your 96 GT had the intake recall done to it? They put a 98 GT intake on mine when they replaced it. Said it was better. I said keep dreamin'. I would have been happier with a Bullitt intake but Ford isn't that generous. Trouble is the bungholes won't replace it untill it blows. Luckily I was next to a parking lot when mine did it so I pulled over and shut it down quick.
