| Guest | Well, heres how it went. Was cruisin home from work in the RT. Medium heavy traffic ( Just enuf space to pop between cars to gain a lane ) And I came up on this nice blue Mustang. 99 or newer. So I bumped it down a gear and came up on his ***, he downshifted and we started to play dodge traffic. He would pull on me a lil, but I kept up with him in traffic. We finally got to a spot where we were able to get out and get it wound WAY open. Up to about 110 or so he pulled me by about 2 car lengths... Not too bad Considering I was driving the Stratus... Ya driven one? They pull REAL strong once they get rolling. I wouldnt wanna stoplight race anything, but I have the 5 speed version.. and it flat goes ( not like my Dak of course ) from a roll I was fairly impressed myself. Suprised would be a better word. Anyway... Go test drive a Eclipse GT with a 5 speed... its the same car Danno | |

| Guest | All I can say is my 99 GT Convertible, AUTO ran 14.5 bone stock. So a 5 speed GT would easily be a low 14's car with a decent driver. | Guest | My girlfriends 2001 runs high 13's and all it has is a H-pipe, flowmasters and Pro 5.0 shifter. Its the commuter car so I dont have to put miles on the Dak... I was actually suprised I hung with the guy as well as I did. I figured dumb driver and automatic I know how fast the real GT's are. Ive smoked a couple at the track that were runnin 14.4's or so. One other thing to consider, ET is basically mostly in the launch. IE torque. I dunno how well the 4.6 GT pulls on the top end, but Ill bet it comes out of the hole WAY stronger than this Stratus. So from a roll, if Im in the right gear, correct RPM and I get the jump on him, it IS possible to pull on something like a GT, and or keep up decently. A good V6 with good top end power in a light car will pull pretty good. Not sayin that I would beat a 4.6 in the Qtr with it!! Just sayin from a 60MPH roll I wasnt too far off his ***..... Big diff.
