| Guest | I'm driving along just after getting my '95L back from the shop (checking brakes, no biggie), and I see a R/T come up on my ars fast. He was trying to get in the next lane to race, but to no avail. Finally, two lights down the road we get to pull up besides each other at a red. All I see is his passenger look over and grin. I couldn't see the driver (he's a little ahead of me at the light). Then the driver wipes his hands and we wait for the light. No rev-ing or jumping takes place. The light turns green and we're off. I squeal tires a little, I dunno if he did too. I get a little jump on him, his grill is aligned w/ my front tire. It's even from there to shutdown. A thumbs up to him and a wave from him and we go our separate ways. Still not having seen his face. That is the strange part about it. Usually a look or a nod from the driver before or after the race but nothing. Still a good race in my book! Now I have always been told (by my friend who owns a gen2 and the previous owner, also a friend) that my L would beat a stock R/T no problem so that's my delima. His R/T was different. It was painted white with two black stripes down the center of the truck. He could of also had a different hood on it, like one on a Viper where toward the end it has a "hole" scooping in toward the engine. Didn't get a good look at it tho so I can't be for certain. Is this custom or factory???? If that is custom I would feel better because that would mean that there could be some money in the engine too . I'm hoping some of y'all R/T owners out there would chime in too with your opinions on the race and his truck. I just wish I coulda caught him at the next light to talk. Just a theory to make me feel better, but it is possible that he could of been pissed that he didn't blow me away like he thought he would so he didn't look over after the race and took a right turn. Just a theory . Thanks.Nathan |

| Guest | Two black stripes huh? Maybe they do make Horsepower afterall! j/kSounds like a good run with a cool fellow sport trucker! They should all end with a thumbs up from both sides. ------------------ Mike Hague '99 Lightning (Blk) #1909 13.36@102.26 '95 Cobra R #58 13.18@106+ FOR SALE! | Guest | No special hoods from the factory, so it was aftermarket. If functional (not all are), he at least had cold air. That R/T has most likely had some motor work, unless you are having problems with your L. The Hood is not Stock. You have all kinds of aftermarket hoods available for the Dakota's. A Stock R/T Regular Cab will run low 15's to high 14's, while a Club Cab will run mid 15's. Stock against Stock you should have easily walked away from him. I would say he had some Nitrous or a Blower because of your truck having a Blower. |

| Guest | I doubt he has nitrous or a blower, cuz I don't . I own a gen1 which is N/A for now. I'll probably run into him again so I'll ask him then. Well at least his truck wasn't stock, cuz if it was then my L needs some serious tunning. Thanks again.Johnny, what does the CC stand for? BTW, nice truck, like the shaker!
