| Guest | My buddy, a Dakota owner is looking at the new R/T's and has come across the Toyota S-Runner. Supposedly, it has 190hp and runs 15.9's. Also, a supercharger option which bumps the hp to 260. He knew I monitered the kick arse truck board and asked for my opinion. I've never even heard of the truck. You guys have any flames or props or any info at all? Has anyone lined up against one of these? ------------------ 1992 Sentra SER Cams, Chip and Homemade CAI, 15's in the 1/4. | Guest | Take it how you want, but I found a Truck Trend magazine that tested the S-10 Extreme, Dakota R/T, Nissan S/C Desert Runner, and the Toyota S-Runner. The S-Runner actually had slightly better times in the 0-60MPH section with 7.39 compared to 7.43 for the R/T and ran the 1/4 mile in 15.65@86.24 compared to 15.41@88.86 for the R/T. This was without the supercharger option! They rate the S-Runner very high in everything except style and caracter and list it as being a better value than the rest of the trucks tested. It was a couple grand less than the R/T. What I found to be funny was the fact that the Supercharged Nissan Frontier ran 16.24@83.54 in the 1/4 and the Chevy S-10 Extreme had the worst time of 16.40@81.89. Looks like it might be an option for him to look into. Hope this helps you and your buddy out. ------------------ 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport 4X4, Intense Blue with White Racing Stripes, Kenne Bell Supercharged 4.7L V8 5spd., 3.92 gears, limited slip diff., Borla Headers, Magnum Performance Throttle Body, Flowmaster, Roadmaster Suspension Upgrade, Line-X Spray-in Bedliner,Westin Chrome Step Bars, Street Scene Grill Inserts, Pioneer CD Player, Amp, & Speakers |

| Guest | In one of the recent Sport Truck mags they did an article testing some of the sporty trucks - Their 01 Lightning ran a 14.35 and the TRD S/C Tacoma S-runner ran a 15.02. Not to bad for under $20k ------------------ 2001 Silver ~ 2237 of 6381 - BedRug & Snuglid - Wet Okoles - JL Audio Speakers - Alpine XM satelite receiver - Escort 8500 - Magnaflow 14468 - PSP 12" Filter Kit - BaBolt TB - JDM filp chip & breather cap - Belltech drop shackles - M/T ET Streets on AR Baja's - 13.15 @ 104.03 pics of truck, mods, bikes, and timeslips |

| Guest | The S-Runner's aren't as fast the magazines make them out to be. When I just had PCM, TB, CAI, and exhaust I beat one from a 30mph roll to about 90. I put about 1.5 car lengths on it. It was a supercharged S-runner as well. However, off the line was a different story......I put 3 lengths on him. ![]() |
