Talking 25th Anniversary Trans Am

My first time really racing any F body. I was on York Rd going towards Towson last night when I pulled next to the Trans Am. It's funny because I was looking for a 25th anniversary model for my buddy for almost a month and could never find one, but here I was lined up with one. We took off at green after a slight pause on both our parts, then we took it up to about 80 and we were even for a few seconds but I started walking away slowly after 45-50. I had to shut down and so did he for the next light where he pulled in behind me. We went around the loop in Towson and went our separate ways.
I was pretty happy and surprised. I spun and didn't hook but I think he might have also. His windows were dark but I think he had one or more passengers too so I'd like to see if he's on another board to check and see if he was modded or what.
Anyways, it was a lot more fun than the local Civics, Celicas, and Eclipses that like to do fly bys.

Ummm, one car in a magazine getting into the 12s certainly doesn't mean it "runs 12 easy all day long." What have you been smoking?

I've seen plenty of 14 second F-bodies and even a few 14 second Z06 Corvettes (local Corvette club had an outing at Sacramento dragway).

Nope sorry, I was there, for the whole race even! Although I think I did see you there on the side pulling your pud to the latest Motor Trend magazine's Road Test Results.
Read my post. I even said it's possible he spun also. Also, do a search on my kill stories for the past year. Not a single story buddy. No need to lie. This is my first encounter with an FBody. I gave him props, even doubted his traction and said he may have had passengers. Surely I could come up with a better BS story than this one. I also want to find him either in person or on an FBody board.
Now please put your nose back in your Car and Driver magazine and see how the new S2000 can run 11's with a good driver. See ya!

12's easy all day long? yeah right. Your a GM boy, don't you know what a 25th anniversary TA is? It's a 94 model with 275 horsepower and 325 ft-lbs Torque.

Here's some pics Einstein http://hometown.aol.com/crzy89/exterior.html

Good kill!, very believable.

I think he's probably confused with the 30th anniversary edition.

Good kill! I got lined up beside a Firehawk yesterday. I got real flinchy and excited and then I realized that I was turning and so was he. Oh well...

That's what I was thinking too but I had to razz him a little since he owns a GM and this is the warzone.

Macgregor,
It wasnt a black one was it? If it was a earlier 90's version like a 93-97, you have nothing to worry about. Ive done in a black one like this one night in LR in my Cobra. Its a LT1 car, no prob. You need to watch out for the 98 and up LS1s. Those can be a handful. But there arent many Firehawks around here. I'll talk to you later this week.

Hey INXS,
It was one of the new ones, white and red. Matter of fact thats what I noticed on the fender was a red word 'firehawk'. Yeah I know the news are pretty fast, but I still would have run him. He didn't look interested though.

Soundslike the race went just as it should have. Actually sounds like the T/A might've had some mods....

Cool

You are lucky it wasn't a 20th anniversary Trans Am.

You would have been in trouble then.
