Angry ANY POLICE OFFICERS ON THIS BOARD???

i was pulled over yesterday for supposedly doing 48 in a 25 which is impossible. the reason being was because i was at a stop light and he was sitting maybe 50-75 feet ahead. i was having a rough idle so i punched it half throttle and got pulled over. he also gave me a ticket for my exhaust. i forgot to mention that i asked him to see the radar gun and he told me i cannot. i thought i had that right??? well anyways what makes me mad is i got a ticket 2 weeks ago!!! before that my record was clean. any tips on how to get out of this??? i cant affod this right now...

What sort of exhaust do you have?
I know it must not be factory, but that is a probably something you can talk your way out of.

As far as the looking at the radar, check with a law manual/reference book from your state. A local trial commissioner can be HUGE help, the one for my county is a GODSEND for me and other drivers such as yourself with bad luck. Plead your case, BUT BE HONEST!
Listen at this:
I was 17 at the time, and was calling home on a cell, not watching my L's speedometer while in a straight stretch at half throttle such as you were. Well, he pulled me for 82 in a 45, (he wrote it up as in a 55 thank God, thats jailtime and a suspended license) failure to produce insurance, and talking on a cell while driving. Currently, I'm on a three month probation with a traffic school sentence. You say your record was clean? Even BETTER. Tell the commissioneryou're a good driver, and in this case you feel that you were treated wrongly. It might also help to bring up WHY you were testing the throttle, that is IF she doesn't believe it's BS.

Now that's not to say do this if you can't find an alternate route. This is a last resort mainly, if you can get it "wrote off" or find a loophole, by all means, hit the books or ask around!

The only reason my .02 is here on this subject is 'cuz I have found these solutions to work time and time again.

Good luck and I do not imagine it'll go to many more hours before someone else chimes in with their input. :-)

What's the trial commissioner's name? Was it either Sarah or Charlotte?

Damn I could have that dropped so quick in Georgia. Here the officer has to ask you if you want a calibration check done on the radar and you have to witness it. Im hoping that that gets me out of this 66 in a 40 ticket that I got. The screwed up thing is that in the state of Georgia if you are under 21 and your exceeding the speed limit by 24 miles over the speed limit you get a hefty fine and lose your license for six months and Im 2 months away from turning 21 But Im hoping to talk to the cop and get it reduced a couple of miles and hour.

A state trooper got me Dapurp.
also, it was the lady down at the courthouse. Her husband is a judge if that tells you, if not I dont really wanna give her name out on here.

She got me out of it, and I'm hoping Light94ning's commissioner might get him out of his prediceament

Rusty,

before before before. Quick as you can if you cannot scurge any solutions, for this will show him/her you're worried and want some help! :-)
that beast of a ticket I got, I went and seen her the next morning. I sure do hope yours is as nice as ours is here in redneckville.

Ours here has an office in the courthouse down town. I would presume that is where the one in your area resides. Walk in the courthouse, and look on that big board that tells you where everyone is. should say something like "john doe trial commissioner 3F"

Just to give you an insight, he/she can re-route your ticket, cancel your trial, assign traffic school tickets, basically anything he/she wants. If he/she says your ticket will not be on your record, then it WON'T be. I know because when I got this one she pulled my record up and my last one she wrote off wasn't there.
(just stressing the amount of power this person has if you win their side)
Again, if you have options you can tap, I would. I really do not wish to f*** you up, but you seem to be in the same boat I was. A ticket and no connections, and I did the same thing, asked around, and the commissioner referral is what kept turning up.

Rusty, if you find yourself dry of options, it cannot hurt to go see your commissioner. I mean, you're out of ideas at that point anyway.

Best of luck bud

damn, I suppose Ohio doesn't have these people. But I'm not lying man, I have to go see her again.
(tires got spinning in a puddle, police got pissed.)

I suppose maybe in Ohio they have a different name, someone has to make trial dates for crying out loud!

But you can ask 93whitelightning and DaPurpleR/T, there's one down here.
Id put her name up if I knew she wouldn't mind.

Rusty - In Indiana you can have your ticket deferred. That means if you stay clean, not even a parking ticket, for six months it will not show up on your license record. You will have to pay a processing fee, usually the amount of the fine and sign a statement that you will obey all traffic laws and not receive a ticket in the next six months. You will need to see the Prosecutor and ask him if he will agree to defer your ticket. Tell him that you have never had a ticket before and that you are a consensus driver. Really build you self up. If you have stock exhaust you might tell him that too and he might drop it. It worked for me 87 in a 40. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas
