| Guest | I don't know much about bikes, cause they really don't interest me to much...but my question is, Theres this guy in town who wants to always race cars! He usually picks on the slow imports, but one of his friends tried to get me to race him! Its a new Buel BTW! Do you think I can put him down if I run my stickies???? I figured a high 12 low 13 on the street! He was talking money, but not much and the bike is relatively new and doesn't have any mods from what I hear! ------------------ Shane L. | Guest | Dont race him. The Buells arent like a Super Bike, but, it really shouldnt be hard for him to beat a car/truck. Even if hes a decent rider, high 11s/12 flats are easy. If he's never ridden before, dont go near him!! He might run into you, and damage your truck. ------------------ Rod K. | Guest | I wouldn't bother with him. A guy I work with has one of those Buells, I ran him in my L for the hell of it. What a joke, the L destroyed it, wasn't even a race really. And no, I didn't run him over, we just hit it from a stoplight. I figured, it's a bike, it ought to be at least somewhat fast, you know? It didn't impress me. ------------------ NLOC #736, '01 red L, build #2075, built on 3/21/01, stock except for K&N filter and Magnaflow muffler |

| Guest | Race him just for the hell of it!!! Just don't bet any $$$. If you are not racing for money or pride or a chick, just do it, you have nothing to loose. Especially if its a bike. At least you had the nuts to race a street bike with a full sized truck! ![]() ------------------ 99 Red Lightning--Fog light ram air, JL Filter Kit, 90mm MAF, 2# (street) 5# (track) Lower pulley, 2500 Stall Torque converter, Diablo Chip, Aloy Driveshaft, 4.10 gears, NOS Wet Shot, JDM Oil breather, 01 Intake and IC, canton windage tray, JL Power cooler. | Guest | Well, if its a Buell Blast, its a 500cc single. They are pretty slow. A lot of Lightnings could beat it. Now if its a Buell Lightning (yes they have one in that name) you are more than likely gonna lose. But just for fun race him anyway. Tell the guy he better win. You have nothing to lose. If he wins, he should on a bike. If you win, you have every reason to crow!! He really should be picking on other bikes though! Be safe. | Guest | Well, what's a Buell S? I think that's what the guy I work with has. Those Blasts..aren't they like big mopeds, with automatic clutches? ------------------ NLOC #736, '01 red L, build #2075, built on 3/21/01, stock except for K&N filter and Magnaflow muffler |

| Guest | Thanks guys, for you opinions! I've seen him get on it and such and it doesn't really look fast, but then again I don't really know what my truck looks like going down the track or street as well! ------------------ Shane L. | Guest | No, not yet! He mentioned this a couple of weeks ago but I havn't really been out with it being colder and all, besides, I have some tunning issues that I need to get a hold of first! I think the computer is bad or something! I might be possibly converting to mass air, so hopefully that will cure some of the problems as well! I need to sell my mustang first, to come up with some cash! LOL ------------------ Shane L. "A youth becomes a man when the mark he wants to leave on the world has nothing to do with tires....." |

| Guest | Yeah I do that, cause its the internet and everything doesn't have to be proper! You know what I mean! After messing around on the net so long its kind of difficult to right a type an essay paper or a comp for school! The buel was supposed to be one of the entry level bikes and not really that fast, so I guess I just forget about it! Later ------------------ Shane L. | Guest | I know next year over summer my friend is gonna want to race me on his bike against my L. I'm not sure what I'll say but it might be a fairly good race. He's 16 and just got a Suzuki TL 1000 twin. I figure it might be a putz but not sure. | Guest | Hey BackinBlack93, are you talking about the TL1000S? Looks like a Bandit on steroids? Dude, those are BAD bikes. Quick suckers and that twin sounds sweet! That's ALOT of bike for a 16 year old. If he learns to ride it good he'll fly on that thing. ------------------ Adam B. 1994 Red SVT Lightning #2019 A few more L pics [This message has been edited by MO351 (edited 12-13-2001).] |
