We do it with 302s all the time! And a 351 will push WAY above 400hp and about 480-500 lbft of torque. You should go to whatever race he was babbling about and stomp some ***. ------------------ Rod K. '93 Lightning #1529 NLOC #675 13.27 @ 101.55 Au Natural 12.67 @ 102.52 Kinda juiced.. | Guest | OK, I can't stand by anymore The guys on the R/T are not stupid. There are many of them that know their stuff very well. Travis has got to be one of the most imformative guys when it comes to R/Ts. He has done it all. Barry is another. For some of you to quickly dismiss their knowledge is ignorant and erroneous. HotRod, it has nothing to do with being out done. It has to do with facts. If you really kept up with the R/T board then you would know that Travis doesn't bull****. He's had plenty of experience fine tuning R/Ts. Tim came to the R/T and posted his problems. Travis posted some help and called it as he saw it. Then Tim took total offense and started the flame war. I can guranteee you that Travis knows more and has done more with R/Ts than Tim can even imagine. The rest of us on that board are all laughing are asses off at Tim because he thinks he is going to teach Travis a thing or two. Tim is a Lightning fan at heart and doesn't know what he drives. He enjoys posting on this board more than the respective R/T boards. He would sooner hang out with the L guys than show up to an R/T meet. So by all means keep him because we sure as hell don't want him over there. |

| Guest | You are right on a few points. One: I like and Respect Lightnings. Infact if the new L Came out before the R/T i would have bought it. Two: I DO enjoy hangin with the Delvalco Becuz they are much more Level headed. Three: Once my R/T is Complete and I Totally Spank Travis' *** in the 1/4 and have my Mech Laugh in his face. Then you and the R/T bored can Go to hell. Want tips ask your Buddy Trav. I Scan that board everyother day and cant seem to find any useful info.... Just thought i would post some.... Go back to picking on the Extremes lol Im passed that stage. ------------------ KeepTruckin! Tim C 99 SYRC R/T:13.80@100mph! | Guest | "the reason we lost oil pressure was the Crank actually FLEXED causing it to bow and trash the main and rod bearings.... Oh come on, this has got to be your guess, no offense but this is complete BS!!! i need new main and rod bearings and a new crank as well as ARP stud bolts to keep it from happening agian. How would ARP studs help with crank flex as you call it? I don't know who told you all this, my guess is that the oil feed was left off and the oil drained out of the engine causing major failure. There is no way boost caused this to happen. Nothing you will add will prevent this from happening again. Was this the info the dealer gave you? What a crock, ahahahahahaha. Thanks for the laugh, this tops the recent stories I have read in some time. No offense to you and I'm sorry this happened. Take care" Quote From TravsRT ATTN: Jeff S. OK, first thing you do Tim is get an X-Plan pin from a helpful NLOC member and get an '02 L at 0%. Then your crank flexing problems will be history and you'll take .6 of a second off your best 1/4 time. Not only that, but it'll save you time too (which is money) because you'll only have to post in 1 spot! | |

| Guest | Tim, I'd hesitate to make a guess since I can't see the problem, BUT if you guys have flat tappet motors, head straight for the lifters. If they or the cam lobes are scored, it was an oiling problem. If it's SOLELY the crank bearings, something was wrong on the bottom end - probably bolt stretch and cap walk, though, rather than crank deflection. I have to admit that the fact that the Vortech uses external oiling makes me wonder about some kind of problem related to the installation. That said, you're right. That guy's an ***. Knowledge and character are certainly not necessarily related. |
