Question

Is it just me or does their new body style look a lot like a Dodge Ram? Especially that bottom pic. I'd still run it...

Very nice looking, wheels are a big too large though for it. And yeah, the 2nd pic looks a lot like a Ram sideview. Still, I'd like to see the times it would pull.

Rod K,

You better watch out bro. This truck was built by Pro-Finish/Pro-Glass ( the same guys that built my shaker hood ) and let me tell you...this Chevy is BAD *** !!! It's a heavy duty powertrain in a 1/2 ton truck and with the juice it'll flat out fly. Mid 12's will NOT be a problem.

It looks like any other Chevy to me with a lowering kit, so nothing special in the looks department. Also, he may want to look into a lower profile tire, something just doesn't look right with chrome rims and super swampers . As for the engine, sounds pretty bad *** but so did the SS concept until it ran like a 14 or 15 sec 1/4 mile *snicker, giggle*.

I'm not usually a Chevy guy, but I like it! One question though...what if we have engine goodies of OUR own? Will it still send us packing - - or the other way around? Kidding...pretty cool

Well until there are some real timeslips to back it up, it's just all talk!

Nice Camber......

496 BB with Nitrous----mid 12's will not a problem????

I certainly hope not. But, you did say "will not be a problem." That, to me, means it has yet to be proven.

I have an old, black farm truck I'd like to run against it, though.....

12's won't be a problem?? Big deal. I was expecting someone to say 10's. Then I'd be sorta impressed.

Unhappy

Why did you sell your Lightning for that??????? You will get walked on all day. Thats gay!!! When you race your fellow L owners, be sure to bring a boom and dust pan so you can salvage what is left of your nos powered thingy! How much Nos are you shooting anyways. If you hook a good shot of nos and afew mods to an L, it can easily run mid 12's all day too! Hell, if you sell your L to buy something awsome expecially a chevy, get something respectable like a ZO6. No flames, just tellin it how it is.

Well, I don't like the wheels/tires, and it sits a bit too low for my tastes, but that's just personal preference. Otherwise if Chevy will build 'em,,, AND warranty them, I want one. Nice Truck!

Red face

Relax there kiddies. Go re-read my reply to Rod K. The guys at Pro-Finish are great and they build some awesome machines so some of you should consider broadening your horizons.
As for Mr.Lightningfastsvt, How many people own a truck like this SS ??? How many own a Z 06 ??? This truck is the only one I know that had the 3/4 ton powertrain transplanted into a 1/2 ton. How many Lightning owners have anything this original ???
