Question R/T vs. Lightning? Everyones opinion.

I was wondering cause my friends think a Dodge R/T will beat a Lightning. I told them now way. Just wondering what you think.

R/T's are slow. Even modified R/t's are slower than a Lightning with basic bolt ons

Hey man,

I am not picking on you at all with this. But I figured I would say it tasefully before someone else lays into you.

I hate to the guy that says "Use the search fucntion." This has been talked about a million times over. Go look in some of the War Zone archives.

So, to keep this from getting discussed in the Gen 1 Section and turning into a flame war, I am moving it to the War Zone.

Here comes another one guys.....

Stock R/Ts run about the same times as stock Gen1 Lightnings (except, from all my races with them, they seem to have more traction problems ... or maybe they just can't drive). They both run in the mid 15s stock, but it's hard to find stock Gen1s nowadays Don't be afraid to run them.

I have raced two of them. One night i was coming hom efrom work and this black comes up next to me and we both floor it at the same time doing about 45mph and we were side by side up until 90mph i was kinda of upset. I followed the guy and i was a high school kid adn asked him if he wanted to go from the line and he said yes. The light tuned green i had him off the line by about 2 car lengths up until 90mph. I was happy then. The other one was a red one. One i went to the store and i saw an RT following me by the time he caught up to me i was already walking out of my truck and he revved at me. Two weeks later i see him on the street and i follwed him about 3 mile just to try to race him and when we finally got the chance i beat him my about 1 car lenght going from 30mph to about 60mph i stopped and waited for him to see if he wanted to race again and he turned off to another street. My truck is a 93 and at thim it only had pullies and flowmaster mufflers.

Dodge is what you have to do! "Dodge" means to avoid, keep this in mind if you whack the throttle open behind one of these slugs, because you will have to swerve to avoid hitting it and zoom around it.

SOme harsh words in here! LOL.

Yeah, basically, a stock Gen 2 will wipe the pavement with a stock R/T. A first Gne Vs. R?T will be a good race.

If ya want more detail, DO A SEARCH. You'll have enough reading material to last the winter.
