Well last night was supposed to be pretty tame, a friend of mine's parents went outta town and we were gonna stay there and hang out with a few more friends. But neways, I headed to town in my friend's accord. Everyone is pretty much used to me driving the mustang around so they were asking questions about where i've been and stuff, and how a couple of the older 5.0's and LTI f bodies were wanting to race me. Well I decided to go back to the house cuz there were a couple of older cars in town that I had interest in, one being a 69-71 Chevelle, and the other being some mopar, not really quite sure though. It was primered and sounded like it had a healthy cam. Looked like the roadrunner body style...i'm thinking maybe a GTX. Well I got back to town in the Mustang, and those guys were leaving just as I got back. So i thought that was a wasted trip. Then I see my friend Nikk whose got a 95 LT1 Z28 with an automatic. I think his only mod is a chip of some sort. He asks me if I wanted to race just for the heck of it, and I said sure. But i asked if he'd take one of my passengers, cuz i had two people in the car with me, and I make up for two myself. So he took one and we started out of town. Well when we get out one of the older GT's that was wanting to race me came out of a side street sideways in front of me. I thought, no big deal, but sure is a silly way to lose a car. So i just kept on like normal not thinking about it. Well i get ready to pass the guy, and he downshifts twice, and nails it. I see the big yellow shift light come on hitting third. Well Nikk who was behind me, passes me and chases the stang. So i'm like alright, and follow. After we were going about 70-80 mph (keep in mind this is on a unpopulated road at about 11:30 at night, and pretty straight) we all three kick it, we don't pull on each other at all. I stay right on the mustang's arse, and Nikk stays door to door with the guy. Well the guy finally lets out after doing this two more times hoping he'd pull from us. He didn't. So the guy turned off, didn't see him again. So Nikk and I go up the road about a half mile, and stop. I guess he was waiting for me to give the signal, so i finally gave it, and got a 5 -10 feet jump on him. He stayed right with me, which was no supprise, but I pulled away from him after hitting second, and bangning third, by about a car length. All in all a good race. I still think he could have had me if he woulda stalled his car up, cuz it's hard to launch my mustang. Ohh yea, about 30 minutes later, i get a call on my cell phone how that dude in the mustang was bragging about busting us real bad. And i tell the guy who was on the phone that he didn't pull from us at all. And he's like really? And got the guy driving the mustang on the phone. Dude said that it was fun "playing" with me. And thanks for the fun. I told him, if he wanted me to do it again, i'd be more than happy to. And i told him to come up to the local street racing joint, and there was a pretty little pewter firebird that wanted to race him. He made excuses such as something in his rear end broke, and he had to fix it first. Dude sure did run good for a broken rear end Sorry it was so long. It's been a long time since i've had any good races, and it really got the blood pumping. Peace guys.
