with an air-air you will never be able to get the iat2 temps as cold as an air-water system with ice in it. the most an air-air unit can cool the charge temps down to is ambient. you can get below ambient with a properly designed air-water . you can design the system with enough flow and a big enough heat exchanger with fans to shed the heat on the street too. what about a full size radiator mounted in the bed of the truck with a some big electric fans on it? now there's an idea!

going from an undersized air-water unit to a huge air-air i could see people not wanting to go back, but i would question how good they're air-water system was, especially if they are drag racers...

You can get below ambient with a A/A with a little methanol. The thing I wouldnt want in a big A/W is all the extra weight of water; heat exchangers; pumps; fans; having to deal with ice....

One of these days all the blower people are going to figure out the factory A/W core and water system is holding them back and build a better A/W.....

Once again I hate sounding like a broken record but I will stick with the people that had both and prefer the performance of A TO A over A TO W. People can say what they want and find all the data they think is right or know is right but it doesn't mean $hit until you do it and try it yourself and compare the two and find out what you like best. I will find out how much I like or dis like the A TO A in a couple weeks.

What's the size of the A-A you have? Where did you get it?

All you can do is research and look at all the data and make a choice accordingly. In the end it's your truck and you can run whatever you want. I'll say this though, people going from a stock A-W intercooler set up to a big A-A set up probably will like the A-A better. If you compare a big (and properly built) A-W set up you will probably see different opinions though.
