new turbo/tuning question

okay, so my new turbo setup is kicking my ***...

i finally was able to get the radiator and a/c condenser out of the way by moving it up against the core support as far as it will go and now the crossover pipe and turbo fit just fine.

i have to have my a/c lines modified and modify some of the coolant hoses as well as the power steering hoses (the one on the pump is almost directly under the crossover pipe this could be difficult to move out of the way)

my old setup was a remote mount, lots of piping and a major pain in the ***.

my new setup is all underhood, custom headers that point towards the front of the truck and a master powers t70 turbocharger which is bigger than my previous turbo.

so i was tuned for 8 psi with my old setup.

on to the question.

can i drive my truck with my previous tune? i just need to be able to drive it to the exhaust shop and then to the dyno for a new tune.

as long as my a/f's are okay i would assume its okay to drive.

You can drive it, but I'd be driving it to a tuner. Sure the A/F may be fine, but the bigger wheel will bring the boost on faster after a certain point, and MAF xfer could be a factor. I'm not into risking all that work just to get some drive time. 8 pounds should be no biggie though. I'd still baby her until you can get it to a tuner though. Congrats on getting her buttoned up!

i am going to be using an 05+ mustang power steering resivoir, to make rerouting the ps lines and relocting the resivoir easier. i got the top of my condenser to sit up under the upper core support by shaving about half of the thickess of the rubber pads in the upper mounts for the condenser, then installing them flipped around with a longer bolt an a steel spacer.

i am working on making new upper radiator mounts out of 2"x0.125" steel bar that will lean the radiator forward about an inch and reuse the stock rubber grommets. i have one of them about half way done, just need to weld on some gussets and then duplicate it.

if you need to drive it, just try to stay out of boost until you get a new tune on it.

turbo tuning
Being an owner of a MTH mini one and knowing how good the car became after a tuner file re-map ...can any one tell me will the next generation turbo minis equally benefit in the ecu department in the same way or is it the turbo that will get the tweak
many thanks........

yes they will actually, even though this is not a mini site. you will have luck with tune and physical changes. the tune will remove boost limitations set my the computer
