| Registered User | PT76GTS alternative I have a PSI kit that had a Precision PT76GTS bolted up to it. Kinda new to the turbo game and all these different turbos are starting to run together in my mind. It seems like alot of people seem to go with this set up though. So what I'm trying to find out is if there is a cheaper or less expensive alternative to this turbo that will produce the same results? Do all T4 flanges bolt up the same? Should I just stick with the PT76GTS? Sorry for the newb questions. |

| always bet on black | a t4 flange is a t4 flange. what is your goal, more power than the 76 can make, or just to be different? i chose to be different: ![]()

| Registered User | Not really trying to be different, I think going Turbo is different enough. Just not wanting to dish out $1500 for the PT76GTS. Thats a very large chunk of my "Turbo fund". Basically looking for a turbo with the same specs or similar specs just cheaper. I've been looking around at the Borg Warner turbo's, maybe a S400 series w/ T4 housing. Seems I can get one of those under $1000. Has anyone here used a BW? I'm also looking into a Masterpower T-76. Last edited by davesvt00; 03-18-2009 at 01:28 PM.. |

a lot of guys on theturboforums.com have had good luck with the BW turbos. they seem like a much better value than the master power ones (a lot better quality for only a little bit more $$$). i don't know anybody personally who has used one though. matias, aka mistergadget on here, is using a t6 BW s400, but he just got it running, no dyno or track numbers on that setup yet. I might make the switch to the BW S380. Its an 80mm turbo with a T-4 exhaust housing. Rich | |

| Registered User | Well I checked around turboforums and the MP T76 looks like it might be what I need. Specs: compressor inducer exducer trim a/r air inlet specs 76.5mm 103.5mm 42 .72 4" Turbine inducer exducer trim a/r discharge 64.5mm 74mm 76 .68/.81/.96 vband If some of you turbo pros want to chime in with your thoughts I'd greatly appreciate it.

| always bet on black | you will just have to redo the turbine end of the downpipe. if the BW has a larger outlet (i think they are 4" v-band), you just have to weld on a 4"-3.5"reducer and a 4" v-band flange. not too bad if you can weld. not a bolt on deal, but not much to fab.

View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | Not sure what your goals are, but for a street truck there is the PT6765H in a T4 set-up that would bolt right in and is capable of 700+ horsepower. It'd be a blast on the street and have a nice torque curve. Those are closer to $1000. - Brian |
