need some turbo sizing input

Ok I am trying to settle in on what next big mod I am gonna do to my truck.
Vortec, Single turbo, twin turbo????
I have a PD right now and going vortec would be relatively easy and tune wouldn't have to change much( SD with TwEECeR). Single I can buy a used kit and put it on then get it tuned, sell PD and LT headers, Or Twins--mount them at end of LT headers under truck.
What size turbo would you guys do for a single??
what size turbos for twins??

Mods are in my sig thanks guys.Just bouncing around ideas!!

Turbo sizing depends on if its a daily driver or a weekend track only truck. If it was a daily, I would use a Master Power T70 w/ .96a/r since its a 351. If it was for track duty, a Precision 76 w/ a .81a/r to get it spooling quicker. I really wouldn't bother with twins, its a ton of work for the same amount of power. When I built the twins for my coupe it took forever, and still didn't come out that great. A single MP70 at 13psi would make at least 500rwhp on that truck. It will be a handfull.

I don't now about that. Its a lot Less BS to find room for 2 small turbos then one big one. And it will make more power. 2 T04B or E will make a 1000whp and 1 T76 can only make 800whp. And I've made 600whp and 711wtq on 15# with a stock short block, cam, and intake with trick flow heads. And with 2 turbos there's no lag at all.

I've don't it Booth ways and there booth hard to do and take a lot of work.
But trying to find room for everything with a singe turbo and leave the front dress was way harder then the twin turbo i built.

And its really hard to get a pipe over 3" between the frame and the engine for a down pipe.

I think I am just going to do the twins this summer like I originally thought about. I will get the Vortec to tide me over. I just haven't seen a single that I like alot, And I want atleast a 3.5 DP if I am going single, I 76GTS is just SOOO much more resposive with a 3.5" or 4" DP and I can't see fittng that size DP without serious modifications and overheating other components. I am gonna do twins at the end of my longtubes near the tailshaft of the trans. Lots of room. Probly 2 MPT70 turbos with .68 turbine housing( on a 414 that I already have)

You Know your going to have to run a pump for the return oil for the turbos Right?

And your going to have a lot more Lag being that far away from the head.
You can get a 31/2" down pipe down pipe in there. I have them on mine. But you can't get a 4" there with out using a flat pipe.

And yes you will get better resposive with bigger pipe.

to big and it isnt worth it...

def no bigger then 3.5" for the DP...

i am kinda worried with the 4" i am going to try to run.. i may end up with a 3.5 also...

i think the MP 70s wont be up to the task of a 414 ci motor... i would look elsewhere....

how high you gonna spin it? what are your HP goals.. what you do wanna run???

you wanna be a dyno queen or track whore...

do you have enough fuel for 1krwhp? will your heads be up to the task??? how bout your trans and tc???

One of PSI Motorsport's 76mm turbo trucks switched from a 3" DP to a 4" and they picked up quite a bit of power. Very worth it and advised from what I've seen.

I went from A 3" down pipes and exhaust to 31/2" down pipes and 4" exhaust and pickup a lot of power.

You can get a 4" down pipe in there but your going to have to a oval pipe where the frame is. Or you could run it on the outside of the frame. And kill it at the tire.

I had no issues fitting a 4" downpipe on the drivers side in a first gen. Where did you have trouble fitting a 4" downpipe?
