| I'm a Fool for Spool. Paid Member | Throttle Linkage figured out for Wilson setups. I forget who was asking me, but I FINALLY figured out how to do the throttle linkage with my setup. I still need to get a piece of all-thread to replace the nut on the swingarm, but that's no biggie. You can see where I had the ball welded to the end to use a clip on style holder. Well the angle sucked since I couldn't get my throttle cable over any further, and it also rubbed my fuel fittings. I went to pep boys and for 4.99 I found a SPectre brand "linkage kit" that just has all kinds of swivels and assorted lengths of female-threaded insert. No cutting needed. Just uses the stock parts. The ONLY other part needed was the brass piece you see in the bottom. That is from a Lokar throttle cable kit and can be ordered separately. The throttle cable goes up in it and it secured via set screw. I need to find a stronger return spring as well, but at least all the "HOW THE !@*^%@ IS THIS GOING TO WORK?!?!?! RAARWRWRW! scenarios have past ![]() Part: ![]() How she sits currently. Getting closer every day. ![]() Last edited by typhoon43; 01-30-2009 at 10:25 AM.. |

View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | Will the spring for the throttle linkage work ok without bending up on that screw there? let alone is there a good amount of tension? BTW Great build... so much for those 7 days eh? nice job Smitty

| I'm a Fool for Spool. Paid Member | I need stronger springs Smitty. And the 7 days of hell was just the big push. I definitely got far in that week. Now I need to recollect my funds and my brain, and start finishing. Looks like I'm going to be redoing the lower cooling solution, and a remote oil filter mount, so another step back. It needs to be done though ![]() |

Smitty

| Registered User | you can buy the tb bracket that they make for fox body TB. then get the lokar kit and make it work or get a fb throttle cable. go to on corral or turbomustangs and look at some of there setups. i will take a pic to night of my mustang and its Throttle cable for you guys. using a mustang setup makes it pretty easy. ![]() use this with a small plate to make attach the cable to. that is pretty much what every pushrod engine uses to make theirs work.
