| Registered User | bottom end? i saw the post about "wat to do". was curious what u can do with stock internals on a 5.4l sohc? i have a harley 01 and i know that i dont have the forged crank. running a 76mm turbo. gathered some info saying 400-450 horse max with stock internals. Crank good till about 600 and block gives away at about 1000. |

| Supporting Vendor | You should be able to make 500rwhp on the stock engine with a turbo setup, and a good tune. From there, just toss in a set of h-beam rods (take your pick at brands), and if the pistons are "ok", you can toss in some fresh rings, and reuse them.. They are forged, and will hold up just fine, unless you're looking to make over 650-700rwhp. From there, you will want to toss in some head and main studs, for good measure, and some new head gaskets. The stock head gaskets are fine, as they are MLS gaskets. The crank is going to depend on how much power you want to make. New bearings, seals, etc.. of course.. and you will want to have the block cleaned/honed for the new rings to seat properly. Travis |

| 120 lbs of whoop ace | You can make well over 500rwhp safely on the stock block with a turbo. provided you have the supporting maf and fuel mods and a good tune. I made 501/582 on my daily driver street tune with a Whipple, and even more than that on my race tune. A turbo is much less stressful on the engine than a supercharger is, and can make even more easily and still be safe.
