WG spring

I bought a 14psi turbosmart spring for my streetgate. THe only problem was they didn't make a spring for the street only the ultra. (which i guess took the place of the street) When I asked about the difference they said there wasn't any but the look. Well, Shaggy and I put the spring in today and the spring is noticable bigger. (14 over the 7) The spring didn't fit in the gully of the piston. We put it on topa nd clamped it down. I drove it home and it seems to be working jst fine. Will I have any trouble down the road with the spring not being in the groove of the blatter/piston?

Oh, when taking the WG off we found that the gasket between the WG and exhaust, the side with the exhaust coming in, not out, was in shambles/pieces with half of it gone. Would this have cause the slow boost?

Yep, any exhaust leak on the hotside of the turbo is gonna slow down boost response and cut power.
