Turbo build pics!

I was going to wait until the turbo project was done to post pics, but it's coming together so nicely I just couldn't help myself. Here are some progress pics of the mock up so far (courtesy of PSI Motorsports). All the piping should be finished next week, with the custom intercooler/HE/reservoir setup and fuel system to follow. The turbo housing, intake, and various parts will be polished, the rest will be coated, and the exhaust turbine housing will be coated as well. Should be done in about 2 weeks. Anyways, on to the pics!

For those that don't know, the turbo is a Precision GT47-88, and the intake is a modified Precision 054 1500hp water-air intercooler. PSI has some really cool stuff in store for the rest of the build. Chad (fuzzie) said he's gonna let me pick off his leftovers at the track LOL.

thats a cool looking intake manifold/idea. that size turbo isn't going to be friendly on the street how are you planning on dealing with the lag?

A really good torque converter and nitrous (for the track) will help a lot. I don't think it'll be too bad.

That size turbo up here at this elevation would be a real bummer on the street no matter what stall you have. I have a 4000 stall going along with my TT build that i think will be great.

Luckily I'm down here in Houston which is just above sea level. I considered going with twins when I first decided to pull the trigger and go turbo, but I decided that a big single would work pretty well.

Looks killer!
I would make sure that you use a ball bearing "R" version of that turbo to help it spool. Also, use the smallest A/R exhaust housing available. I'm sure you guys know what you are doing!

GT4718R with a .96 A/R. This turbo is good for 1400hp!!??? WOW!!!!!!

I use N2O at the track to get my gt42-76 moving.( 1.5x 60' @ 5200lbs) Without it, it's a slug. (2800 stall)

Dont know the headers size but he is keeping everything that came from the factory. I just got some pics from PSI last night and sent em to Scott. If he decides to post them you will see the downpipe. Its pretty damn amazing ha ha.

Yes everything is staying. Total street truck! Not sure on the primary size, but I believe it's 1.75".

With the relatively low boost I'll be running with the turbo, I didn't think the extra cost of the ball bearing option was worth it. I do have the smallest A/R (.96). I'll also be using nitrous for the track to help get it out of the hole. I'll have a 3500 PI converter to help as well. Later on we're going to do a custom brake setup to help build boost as well. Hopefully it'll all come together.

BTW, this turbo is listed as good to 1500hp.

I'll post updated pics later.
