stock knock sensor

Does anyone know if you could turn on the factory knock sensor for use in a turbo truck?? If you look at the factory wiring diagram, it is wired to the pcm.
Anyone done this or thought about it???

Paul

I absolutely plan to use mine. God knows it saved my Typhoon about 200 times when I was an idiot running 19 pounds on a 2 BAR MAP sensor

Skid, you get a lot of false positives or something?

The ones from the lightning are not calibrated very well. When we run them, it gets replaced with one from the Mach1. Those are much better. The blower makes way to much noise for the sensor to be effective. however with a turbo it works just fine.

Mark,

Where is it located on the stock Lightning? I've probably looked at it a hundred times, but I just can't seem to place where it is.

Also, do you have a ford part # for the Mach 1 unit?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul, its the sensor in the center of the valley under the lower manifold. Its covered-up by the coolant tube to the rear of the motor. The wires for mine are cut off.
