flexpipe before turbo?

have to rework some of my hotside turbo piping, is there any reason why i should not use a piece of flexpipe before the turbo?

lol nope while your at it make sure to check your blinker. flex pipe will not hold the pressure you would put on it. heck it even leaks when used as directed.

I would most definitely use one to help with torque-flex. Have you looked inside a flex pipe before? It's corrugated (ribbed) on the inside so it can bend, but will still hold exhaust pressure. Everyone always thinks the mesh outside is all it is, and it will "leak" Go hit up turbomustangs.com and take a look. I'd say 90+ percent of the setups that are DD have them installed.

Do you mean AFTER the turbo on the hotside down-pipe? you do not need one, but for longevity sake, put one in.

He said before the turbo, aka the crossover pipe, or at least that's what I'm assuming.

Please explain. This is something I haven't heard of before. All I can imagine is somehow a piece of the flexpipe broke off and ran through the exhaust impeller.

i dont think he's talking about a flex bellow that you weld in. he said flex pipe and im thinking of the crap you get at the parts store that looks like a metal dryer hose and is like 5 bucks for 6 feet. now if i misunderstood and he does mean a flex bellow then by all means go for it.

ummm no dude, im not that ****ing stupid. im talking about flex pipe that looks like mesh that everyone else mentioned.

ive already got a flex pipe on my downpipe..and its welded in there.

for now i have a bracket that holds the turbo in place and this bracket is bolted to the motor, so when the motor moves everything else including the turbo moves with it.

Which is exactly what a flexpipe is made to compensate for. I'd do it.

i really want to konw what atexasguy18 had go wrong with his turbos due to flexpipes

right now my turbosetup is like a hybrid.. its underhood but its like a remote mount due to the fact that the headers were not flipped and therse an assload of pipe.

eventually when its NOT my daily driver ill flip the headers and build a new hotside setup.

its all good lol i didnt mean to come off as angry about ur coment.

i got all my hotside fixed but did not get the flexpipe.

i had multiple leaks (crashed into a curb and screwed up my hotside pipe (since its remote mount)

exhaust shop fixed it, leaks are gone truck is extremely responsive and builds boost so quick!

the only thing is... before i crashed taht pipe i was making 8psi , now its making 7 psi and on my awy to work it spiked to 9psi then back down to 7... i wonder if my manual boost controller is giving up on me!
