View this user's gallery iTrader: 8 / 100% | which turbo..? My engine is built with 1000hp capable internals, custom grind cams and stage II heads, which turbo will give around 600hp and still have more in it? I heard an 88mm would be good, what about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INDUS...spagenameZWD7V I've also heard a T76 would work, but i want opinions from people who have turbo experience. |

| Vrrooooooooooom | You'll be very happy with any 76mm... even the funky old ones are capable of 900+ rwhp on medium-sized motors and they're very happy in the boost range we generally run (15-20 psi). The GTS and GTSH are the cream of the crop. Two things about diesel turbos - they're usually most efficient at higher boost levels (compare a T70, which is based on a diesel turbo, with a T76, which was designed from the get-go to be a gasoline turbo. The T70 reaches peak efficiency about 30 psi, the T76 about 16 psi), and they're usually not setup to take the heat of a gasoline engine. As for pipe size, for 600 hp, whatever you can fit easily. I really, really think you're not looking for 600 hp. Think about what you'd like for 900 hp because that's likely to be where you'll end up. |

View this user's gallery iTrader: 8 / 100% | you think? I know the engine can handle 1000hp, but at what boost are we talking to get me at that hp level? |

View this user's gallery iTrader: 8 / 100% | does anyone sell piping kits with all the different bends to make headers and run the pipe to the turbo? Also, how much of a difference will you see if you run an intercooler vs just straight from the turbo to the tb? what type/size intercooler isnt restrictive at power above 600hp? My next question is about the intake. Im doing away with the factory air/water, im sure others have done this, how do you work around the built in intercooler? Would an aluminum intake off a regular f150 work with this kid of power? Last edited by johndeere185; 12-13-2006 at 10:33 PM.. |
