I started cleaning off the frame.... It's even more of a pain than it looks like. Thanks to Frank for the laquer thinner tip, If not i'd probably have just gone insane.

Looking good. Thank god this is being done down south. That poor garage has been raped.

I'm going to have to try that lacquer thinner on mine, its filthy in there. Funny how you have the numbers on the windshield. My motor let go at the track, and I still haven't taken the damn numbers off yet.

I couldn't bear to wipe off 330 (330ci=5.4L)

Luckily I didn't blow my stock motor, it's still picture perfect

It's an iron block

They can do aluminum blocks as well though, Al Pappito has one in his own 5.4L DOHC 97 Cobra.

Before this thread gets any further, there is one thing I'd like to say.

I want to dedicate this whole project, and all the blood, sweat and tears going into it to my late friend Vince Perini. You're loved and missed buddy.

I miss you man

Tonight's progress - got the frame rails cleaned off, roughed them up, and primered them. I also bent the brake lines for the ABS delete, but didn't mount them up yet since NAPA had no couplers or tee's, so i'll be wrapping that up tommorow.

If the primer dries up and I can spray the rails tonight i'll post pictures of that too, although i think just waiting for tommorow might be the best plan.

Edit: Threw on a second coat of primer. I'm gonna let them cure ovenright, I'll probably paint them with the coating early tommorow morning if I can so they'll cure while I'm at work, and I can start prepping the new longblock to go in tommorow.
