| Supporting Vendor Paid Member | January 2008 Gen1 TOTM – Congratulations Bobby "Blue Oval Forever" Achor! (NLOC #500) January 2008 Gen 1 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Bobby (Blue Oval Forever) Achor! (NLOC #500) Bobby is what you would call a true enthusiast! He has owned more Lightnings than most people have mods! This months truck of the month is as rare as they come. This is a Full Effect extended cab Lightning! Even with the added size and weight, Bobby has proven that this truck still performs with 12 second time slips! Congratulations to Bobby for yet another awesome Lightning!![]() 1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning? While out shopping for a family vehicle, I spotted a 93 Lightning on the lot and decided to take it for a test drive. I was hooked from that moment on. To bad after the test drive I had to come to the realization that I could not afford the Lightning and had to go home in my 90 F-150. 2. Do you have any interesting stories about previously owned vehicles, before becoming a Lightning owner? I'm not sure how interesting this would be. The only thing I can think of is the 55 Chevy I had in high school. It had a big block Chevy with a TH 400. Not too long after I graduated, I installed a built motor and had the TH 400 built. The car ran 10.80 @ 121 that last summer until I flipped it at the track. 3. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go? Chrome Gen 1 Wheels LFP bars painted to match the Lightning logo on the bed sides Trick Flow heads Cam Motion custom roller cam ported lower Vortech S-Trim non intercooled Tweecer E-Fan Built rearend TCE G1 front brake kit 4. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning? Funny you should ask this question. I had only owned the truck for two days. After visiting the ARLOC Crew for some lunch Brad (REDSVT150) and I were on the way home when I hit a deer. Yes I said we hit a Deer with the truck I just bought the day before. Glad Brad was with me. I was freaked out after this happened. Didn’t even want to get out to look at the truck. Luckily the damage was not that bad and we were able to drive the truck home. 5. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc. I work for a local news paper. I have been there for 21 years. I am classified as a Maintenance/Machinist worker. I repair and maintain equipment used to put the different sections of the newspaper together and insert sales adds. My hobbies are fishing, racing and my Lightnings... all 3 of them. I live with my girlfriend of 10 years. We have 3 wonderful kids: 1 girl and 2 boys. I also have a daughter from a previous marriage. 6. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC? I have been a member since 98 when Jeff Sparman ran the site and a paid member since 2000. 7. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate? Spell check would be nice to have back. Also a better classified section. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXSZxpy1JHc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Wp8iY54hcE 8. Why did you pick your board user name (screen name)? Well that's easy. I bought my first Ford in 87 and I have not looked back. I guess you can say I am a Die Hard Ford Fanatic. 9. What are your plans for future changes to your truck? Near future plans call for Lower it with a 1/2 Drop Built Trans Turbo Set up Rear Disk Brake Setup Upgrade Stereo System Long Term Plans Frame off resto Possible Two Tone Paint Job 10. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together? I would like to Thank my girlfriend Mandy and my kids for understanding my addiction to the NLOC and my Lightnings. I would also like to thank Blake (yellowlightning) for all his help. Brad (REDSVT150) for his help and willingness to take a few road trips with me. Richard (black99Light) for his help. Also the rest of the LOLA gang for all the hard work and help when ever it was needed. I have to give special thanks to Steve (SSTOCK) for all the help with the Tweecer and tuning my Lightning and making it possible to do some amazing things with it. Last but not least I would like to thank Jeff Sparkman for introducing me to the NLOC way back in 98. Seeing the things that went on back then are what has drawn me so much into the club. Also the talks with Jeff is what has gotten me into all the crazy things I have come to do with my Lightnings. In end, I have to say I have met a lot of great people (hope to meet many more) because of a truck. Who would have thought this could have ever been possible.
