| Will Work For Truck Parts Paid Member | January 2008 Gen 2 TOTM - Congratulations Dave "Screaming01L" Roshwald! (NLOC #1994) January 2008 Gen 2 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Dave (Screaming01L) Roshwald ! (NLOC #1994) This month the Truck of the Month comes from Florida. A beautiful 2001 model in white. Dave is all about Go-Fast!! as you'll see his list of mods later on!! He spends countless hours with his buds in Florida underneath the hood of his Lightning wrenching on it as well as underneath the hoods of other Lightning trucks. It shows as he has one awesome truck that is a beast!! Just a street and strip terror and now he is sporting a 3.4 Whipple supercharger to make his ride even more nasty. Dave is also an asset to the Lightning community as he openly goes out of his way to help his buddies wrench to answering the questions of people on the forums no matter how trivial they are. Read on and learn more about Dave and his Screaming 01L! 1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning? Simply, I thought the truck looked good. 2. Do you have any interesting stories about previously owned vehicles, before becoming a Lightning owner ? Well, at the risk of looking dumb....... My first real drag car/race car was a 88GT with a built 347. It used to have a T5 in it. I swapped to a C-4 and added a 200 shot to it. Having never raced at the track before with an auto or nitrous, I was really nervous. I lined up, hit the trans brake, tree starts, I got to launch...... I'm at 7000 rpm all in the rev limiter wondering whats going on. Im in neutral..... 3. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go? GO: Motor Bought it built from WMS-- Rebuilt motor .030 over(tested Boss330) Stage 3+ heads with some custom work and Comp Cams stage 3 Whipple 3.4 Race Tested NOS with maximiser Ported lower Icey cold reservior Ruslow under drive PS pulley JLP R exhaust Coated exhaust back to muffler Electric water pump BHJ balancer JW SFI flex plate Kenne Bell Boost-a-Spark WeaponX coils(still trying to fit them) Aeroforce Interceptor gauge AEM wideband 10# lower Tranny BTS tranny with PI stall, locker rear, tranny cooler relocate B&M cooler with 9.5" fan, Fuel Complete fuel system with billet hat, cut gas tank, and Aeromotive Fuel Rails RC Engineering 75# injectors Weight Reduction/Distribution Ruslow tray(rear mount battery) Corbeau seats Removed all heat shields ABS delete Suspension Fiberglass leafs 2 degree pinion bushings Rear shock relocation QA-1's all around Bogart GT's painted Oxford white SHOW: Black carpet Center console 4. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning ? This is my second Lightning. I bought it fully built. Then I decided to go nuts and keep it in street trim. I have been building it for 18+ months and I am just about there. 5. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc. I love racing! I am self employed in the construction industry and have been working on modding cars since I was 15. Now, I am 38. All my work trucks and play trucks are FORD. I am married with one daughter and I'm a workaholic--- LOL 6. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC ? Three years or so. I dont remember how I found NLOC, but Google I think. I chose to become a member because I saw it was a great community and everyone was willing to help with advice. I could ask any question and get the answers I needed. 7. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate? Bring back I trader!! 8. Why did you choose your board user name (screen name) ? Well, originally it wasn't Screaming01L until I bought a screaming 01 Lightning-- LOL. I forgot my former screen name...... something to do with 03dsg . 9. What are your plans for future changes to your truck ? What new go fast products are out there I dont know about ?????-- LOL 10. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together ? Well, JJ@WMS for selling me an already built 10 second legal truck and all of his great advice! Typhoon43 for hours of non-stop wrenching, along with FlaHP. Torrie for his dyno time and tuning as of late and Art Whipple for being a stand up guy to me with this new blower. Congratulations to Dave Roshwald and his 2001 White Ford Lightning for Gen 2 Truck of the Month, January 2008!! |

Well, for having such short legs, it is fast LOL.. Anyways, new setup hasnt been dialed in yet. At 676HP the injectors maxed out on the dyno at 4400 rpm. We raised base fuel pressure to 47 PSI and set shift points to 4K, about 4400 actual, and dropped boost from 21 to 17 and spuittering and bucking got a 11.2.But, when its all said and done, very low 10's consistently should be the norm, providing I can learn to drive it. Right now, Jason (flahp) can kick my butt in my own truck. LOL. I have the RC 75# injectors sitting at my shop. I'm just waitng for the time and energy to install them. Also, I'm having some brackets made to mount the Steeda rails and going to give the wepX coils a try. Last edited by Screaming01L; 01-02-2008 at 08:48 AM.. | ||
