| Moderator Paid Member | November 2007 Gen 2 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Mike (yellowbolt) Williamson ! (NLOC #2068) The truck selected for TOTM this month is a 2000 model residing in Missouri. While Mike has made this truck into an eleven second terror (11.07 @ 125.30) the REAL reason this truck will catch your attention is the color ! Ford never offered this color from the factory so one that’s cloaked in yellow is no small effort to attain ! It’s a good thing Mike is an autobody man by trade ! Mike’s efforts have been rewarded with not only a feature article in the Fall 2006 Ford Performance Trucks but a cover shot as well ! Mike relates an interesting story about how the truck came to be the color it is. Read on to learn more about yellowbolt, the truck and the man. 1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning? Ever since the mid 90’s when the Gen 1's came out, I have thought that they were awesome and when the Gen 2's came out, I fell in love with the new body style, so I had to get one ! ![]() ![]() 2. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go? Now, it has a built motor, Whipple, Rack & Pinion kit, QA1's all around, AJE coil over kit and control arms, nos kit which I haven’t used yet, Bogarts for the track, bucket seats , center console and supporting mods. 3. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning? When I first bought my Lightning, it was bone stock and it was silver. At first I left the outside stock and started modding it for performance (simple bolts ons at first) then I started bracket racing throughout the year at MAR in Wentzville. The first winter I drove it a lot, never in the snow of course, then one day after talking with fellow co-workers, they talked me into turning my dreams for it into reality. Spur of the moment we tore down the truck, took the bed off, cab off and doors, hood, etc.and by lunch it was prepped and ready for paint. I didn’t even have a ride home yet! Called the wife and told her what I did and she laughed and said she would pick me up! 4. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc. I’m 29, I do autobody work. I love to customize vehicles of all kinds. I have several hobbies which include modding the L of course, R/C gas cars and trucks, music, wood working, boating and riding wave runners at the lake, racing, and spending time with my wife and daughter. 5. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC? I’ve been a member since May of 2006 6. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate? The whole website is great ! Can’t think of any changes to make. ![]() 7. Why did you pick your board user name (screen name)? The reason why I choose yellowbolt is obvious !!!!!!!!! 8. What are your plans for future changes to your truck? Future plans include, upgraded heads, cage, BTS trans. and .......... I don’t think I’ll ever be done, ha ha ! ![]() 9. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together? I would like to thank my wife for being so understanding about my hobbies, I would like to thank JJ from WMS for all the help he has given me and for help in the future he he ! I would also like to thank Clear Solutions, and all of my friends and bosses help and support, I could not have done it without them. Congratulations to Mike Williamson and his 2000 Yellow Ford Lightning for Gen 2 Truck of the Month, November 2007! |
