| Supporting Vendor Paid Member | November 2007 Gen 1 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Ross (RLSVT) Lentini ! (NLOC #516) This truck is another prime example of the performance level one can achieve with a pickup bed! Ross has transformed his white 94 Lightning into a serious contender with single digit time slips! Ross is committed to his family, but found the time to build one heck of a Gen 1! ![]() 1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning? Seeing one for the first time and noticed it was basically a foxbody Mustang wrapped up in a truck shell. ![]() 2. Do you have any interesting stories about previously owned vehicles, before becoming a Lightning owner? I have owned a few Mustangs. One was a 1968 I bought for 200 dollars and sold for 4000 2 months later. Another Mustang I had was a 1965 drag car it had a 1969 Boss 302 motor in it. ![]() 3. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go? Where do I start.. The first mod I did was a throttle body and that got the ball rolling. Now it's a carburated 412ci windsor with a C6 transmission. It has an AJE front suspension and runs 9's in the 1/4 mile. As for show, it's kind of ugly right now. It needs some paint work. ![]() 4. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning? The day I bought it, I had been looking for one for a while. I test drove a bunch of red and black ones, but I really wanted a white one. I gave up looking and was about to pick up a 93' notchback. The day I was going to get the Mustang, I left work for lunch and went driving past a Lincoln dealer only to find a white Lightning sitting outside the dealer. Next thing I know my boss was asking me why I took a two hour lunch. ![]() 5. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc. Well I have two beautiful daughters and a very beautiful and understanding wife. They all help me work on my truck and they come to the dragstrip and cheer me on. I definitely wouldn't be where I am at today if it wasn't for them. I also have good friends that have helped me with my truck, especially my big brother. I'm a plumber by trade. It may sound dumb but it's something I always wanted to do. It pays the bills. As for hobbies, I just got back into hunting and our deer season just started. ![]() 6. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC? I have been around since it was a news letter newsletter. I sent in pictures and the cash to become a member. I really haven't been on the site for that long. I never had a computer growing up until I bought my own house. I joined for the community. Makes me feel like I belong to something small and exclusive. ![]() 7. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate? Where is spell check? Uploading and posting photos is kind of tough. I'm kind of computer illterate ![]() ![]() 8. Why did you pick your board user name (screen name)? RLSVT, Just something easy. My initals and the SVT. ![]() 9. What are your plans for future changes to your truck? My plans are a full cage and just to try to beat my best time. Oh and run down my bud, LGHTSPD ![]() ![]() 10. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together? I want to thank my wife Tiffaney and my two daughters, Lilian and Ava, for supporting me and helping me get the truck together. I also want to thank Ray (LGHTSPD) for always helping me in the garage to get the truck done at the LAST minute And thanks NLOC for all the close friends you have brought together with this website. ![]() |
