Post Jan 11th, Kennedale??

Who's all up for it??

How does the track compare to the 1/8th mile track in Denton. I ran a 8.1 w/ a slipping converter in Denton, but the track there didn't seem prepped very well.

Denton is usually one of the best hooking tracks. Kennedale is a nice track, but its really crowded. Lot of money races. You get in the stageing lines, but you might not go in that order. There is a big fat guy up front pick out the races. He tries to match them up evenly cause everyone there is side betting. Its an experience...

I'm up for it and I'll see about bringing out another new Lightning owner.

I think Kennedale is one of the better 1/8 mile tracks out there. I've probably been down that track at least 300 times over the course of 3 vehicles. I remember days I'd get 15 runs in, in one night!

I've never really liked Denton, it seems to be inconsistently prepped. I've had excellent luck at Kennedale every time I've been out there. I equate Denton to Ennis - I hate Ennis..I equate Kennedale to Houston Raceway, I love HRP ! I equate Yellow Belly to Temple Academy, hehehe :P

On a similar note: River City Dragway (not Royce) in San Antonio/Austin-ish is another awesome 1/4 mile track - I'd equate it to HRP...

Cool

I'm still planning on going out there.
Kennedale is a decent track. The last time out(three weeks ago) I made 9 passes in about 2 1\2 hours. All my 60 fts were low 1.9's.
If its still cold on the 11th there won't be too many people out there.
I know the LS1 guys are planning on coming out.

I'll try for it as well, but don't know if I'll be able to make it.

Foxspy, you're in Abilene, huh? I'll be passing through there on Thursday on my way back home (I'm in El Paso right now visiting family). I should be shooting through there in the late morning. If interested let me know and we can hook up for a short time. I'm going to try to make it to the Hooters gig in Grapevine Thursday as wel, so I'll just stick around for a few. Let me know.

That sounds good. Just let me know on when exactly you'll be here. I'm usually in Dallas, but I'm here in Abilene for a week or so. Do you have a cell phone or anything, where I could contact you Thursday morning?

My email is foxspy@454ss.com

I plan on being at Kennedale the 11th, so hopefully I'll see you guys out there.

Hopefully I can get another 454ss to go. Everyone else that I can think of that has a SS has their stored for the winer, or it's taken apart for more goodies.

I don't have my cell phone with me, so that won't do. This'll be the last time I'll be on the Internet before I head out. I'll be leaving El Paso around 5:30am MST, so I should be coming through there about noon or so. If you have time, if there is a McDonald's or Whataburger right off of I-20, stick around there for a little while in the late morning. If I can see it from the highway I'll stop. Unfortunately I'm not sure what time I'll be coming through there, so this may be a lost cause. I'll definitely stop, though. Keep your eyes out for a black 2001 Lightning coming through.
