Post Ennis mission failed? Plan B?

I am going to assume Ennis was a bust due to the weather. I think Garett and I are going to run up to Bnedaddys in an hour or so for lunch. I hear Doug is coming along. If anyone wants to join in just come on over. Its noon now so we will probably be there around 1pm.

Bust? You gotta wake up earlier!

A caravan of 5 of us left Speedzone at 8:15am and were at Ennis by 8:58am...

I only took 4 runs, but my friend in an 02 Z06 and another buddy in an 01 C5 Hardtop got in over 10 runs a piece... then another friend in the caravan got 8 runs in...

Definitely a lot of fun! Made a new personal best! I had to leave early to go to work...else I'd be at Bone Daddy's right now, too

Some of us showed up a little later and got 2 runs in apiece before they shut it down. The runs felt a little better this go around than previously. Too bad it got cut short. Ended up being a free trip as they refunded everyone's money. I got a new personal best as well!

Well, yes Ennis did close way early but I did manage to get 5 runs in before they did.

Let me just say Doug, I'm HOT on your HEELS.

I wish you could of made it this morning

Nice times...Not bad for ennis at all.

I figure my new front tires and Fog are worth a tenth... So I still have a little room to wiggle.

One thing I've noticed at least three times on the street and twice at the drag strip, is that if I spin the tires excessively (versus scrubbing) that I get ZERO boost!! WHY is that?!?

SO..my first run was a
14.24 @ 90 MPH !
My second run, I scrubbed the tires, but then decided to turn off the truck and turn it back on (just to make sure I get a good run in)
and ran a
13.10 @ 104.93 with a 2.003 or 2.008 60'
then my next run was a
13.12 @ 104.xx? with a 2.003 or 2.008 60'

Mods are a chip and an air filter, no pullies yet... I faxed in my dyno sheets and asked for a conservative chip for a daily driven truck.

Next time I'll drop the spare tire and bracket and hitch and see if I can hit 12's with stock pullies and stock tires..for no real reason than to see if I can do it...

Dean,
What you did was activate the Abuse Management Program (AMP) in the ECU. This program is designed to protect the engine. If you power brake, the ECU notices boost and the brakes actuated -- it will then dump the boost. Been there, done that. If you disconnect the boost sensor on the drivers side,it will send a code to the ECU. The real answer is a boost dump bypass like JDM sells.

Hope this helps

Dean just unplug the boost solenoid it works for me and no check engine light. I would not mess with the vacuum system that is a mechanical backup safety to relieve boost after you cut the throttle.

Cool

Mark
Very good times for Ennis. What were your 60' times?

Looks like you will hold the TALON record for Ennis this year and Justin gets the Hallsville record. Doug gets the overall ET record and GO_rila gets the winter off without being harrased. Looks like it turned out well all the way around.

Oh yeah. I did get 5 out of 8 plugs changed yesterday. And I watch the PPV Ultimate Fighting Championship highlights for 2001 last night.

A 13.1 for a chip and filter is really moving especially for Ennis... Nice Run
