Post Any info for down south??

Well since i bought my L up there in North Texas I will go back to you guys for help. First off who does all of the installs on your mods? Do you know of any place down around SanAntonio that does installs. If you all do the installs yourself then I am in huge trouble cause I am not mechanically inclined. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Plus what mods can I do for $1,000 or less. Thanks Dan

Did you pick it up last Wed. in Athens? I got there at 1:30 to meet the engineer. She was a total bee-atch. Anyways I installed my filter kit, ram air, lower pulley, traction bars, line mod valve, drive shaft safety loop, and stall converter. None of these things were hard. But when it comes to vacuum hoses and wiring I have no confidence. For $1000 I would go for a 90mm mass air, line mod valve, lower pulley, filter kit, and chip. That will be in your price range. You should have no problems with a mass air, filter kit, and chip. You will need some jack stands for the pulley though. I believe most the TALON members really don't run pulleys and the very few ones that do run no bigger than a 2#. If you are going to drive it every day I would recommend no larger than a 3-4#. I personly am all about the pulleys and plan on running an insanely large one in the near future. I put the blower through an extensive test by running the rpms up to 6000 down I30 for over two minutes with a 3# and had no trouble afterwards. And yes I am a crazy sap sucker. Also found out you can run 140mph in third gear.lol And to all you guys, no that was not when I blew it up.

Hey man yeah I did pick it up on wednesday. I got there at 8:30 in the am. I was so excited I had to get there that early. Anyway, I picked it up and left at around 11 am. When I was there though the guy from the dealership showed me two L engines that were completly blown from runnin NOS. About those mods, who do you order them through? And about how much faster will a chip, 90mm MAF, and filter make me? Thanks again. Dan

Boone,

Here is my recommendation. Call JDM and get the stage one package and add his #2 lb. lower blower pully to it. The link to his website is www.teamjdm.com the specific information on the stage 1 package is at http://www.teamjdm.com/id127.htm

This is what I am running on my 01. So far it has netted me a 12.900 @ 106.17 on radials. I am very pleased. Since you have a 2000 it will cost you about $1300 for all of it. You can install most of it yourself. You might want to get help with the pully and the line mod valve if you are not inclined to install them yourself.

Good luck!
Sam

Hey Boone, the two motors that were blown up were not from NOS. Whoever told you that didn't know what he is talking about. One of them is mine. The other motor is a 16 year old boys from Pittsburg. Mod wise, check this man out. He has some good prices. www.johnnylightningperf.com
A chip, 90mm, lower pulley(4#), and filter kit will take off about 1 sec. off you quarter. Hope this helps.

Boone, since your '00 is white you don't need to do a bunch of mods to get into the 12's. You can get a chip and filter for $500, easily install both yourself, and with practice and a good track you can hit 12's. That'd leave you $500 left over to buy appearance mods. Speaking of which, I'm considering selling my Slim Top, which just happens to be painted white. If you're interested let me know. If you bought it I'd install it for you.

No I don't know of any other L's in SanAntonio, I just got mine a week ago. You say ask for virus, but that is the name that you use on the message boards. Is that you? Do you work at those shops or do you just know the people that do? And have those shops ever worked on an L? Just questions you know, just being precautious.
