Cool CART Racing TALON style!

Not bad for a December event. We saw some faces that have been rare through the season and a few new ones too. Justin was entertaining as the hostess continualy threatened to kick him out for drinking and riding. It turns out that the #1 carts are the worst ones. I got it on the first track and it only made left hand turns with its flat tire rolling over. 8 minute heats are exhausting and hard on the hands. In the last heat I ate wall sideways at full speed. OUCH! the damn seat belt strap almost broke my neck. We had the place to ourselves basically. We'll see what anyine else adds to the thread. Thanks to those who came to cheer us on and hang out. Oh I almost forgot to give Brian special mention for taking advantage of my handi-cart and pitting into a few walls and spinning me out. I am holding up a big #1 for you Oh yeah Merry Christmas to those of you I will not see before then

Cool

Well, the carts were fairly matched, but since some of the lap time differences were measure in thousands of seconds, I'm not sure exactly what we proved other than it just takes a little elbow to elbow racing to have a real blast.

I had to leave after the 2nd Heat and let Sam be my designated drive for Heat #3. How'd you do Sam? I managed to erase most of the pictures that were taken, but I did save a couple which I will post tonight. Somebody post the Heat results.

I think I had a 4th and a 2nd out of two races

Well, let's see, Sam (as Dennis in disguise) finished in 6th on the 3rd heat, but he hadn't had the two prior heats for familiarization.

Terry, you're quite welcome. It was a pleasure, and I'll be happy to put you into the wall anytime you'd like.

I ended up with a 1st, 4th, and 3rd, but I had the most fun in the 1st and 3rd heats.

As I left I was struck by two thoughts - The steering in the L felt incredibly loose and light by comparison, and as I was going down Stemmons I kept wondering how much better time I could be making if all street cars had bumpers like the TBC cars.

I had fun hanging out with everyone. The first race was the funnest in my opinion. I had the Five-O (Brian) on my *** until we went around a corner and he put me on two wheels.LOL I couldn't catch back up after that. I think that is where all of those screws, ect. were from that Terry seen on the track. The second race sucked. I got a slow car. Scott and I came to conclusion that girl that was getting on my *** needed some deek.LOL She was a little bee-atch.

Justin, I think it was your style of "one-handing" it around the corners that got that girl crazy ..... lol .......

Yeah that too. It was nice meeting you Mark (number 4 in the club I think) and Scott also. Hopefully our next meeting will be in Mesquite or somewhere in East Dallas. I know it was a 300 mile round trip for me. It is not so bad until I get into town. That is when the time-consuming starts. Terry also has a little drive for himself also. And William (Willie) Martin lives in Red Oak and would try to get him into some participation because he is inventive with these machines. I know he changed his own blower out. I am pretty handy with tools, but when it comes to wires and hoses I don't have the confidence. There are to many of those hanging out around the blower.

BTW, that put the opponent into the wall move has a technical term. It's called the PIT (Pursuit Immobilization Technique) manuever. I've never been trained in it, but I've seen it on TV. 'Course, Dale always said "That's just a little rubbin' and grindin', that's racin'."

Yeah I finished sixth. I was in next to last place leaving the pits. Garett was right behind me and passed me after a couple laps. I was still trying to familiarize myself with the course. Terry got stopped for some reason and ended up way behind me. I got tired of running around by myself so I waited up for him and he never made it past me. Thats the story in a nutshell Dennis, thanks for letting me finish off your run, it was fun!

Sam
