Talking Too quiet

It's too quiet in the SOLO section so here's something to read.I just got home from the track with the old Mustang(red light 1st round)and missed a chance to whoop a Dodge with the L.Some guy had a 1/2 ton Dodge pickup there running 9.9-9.6(1/8 mile)with a ton of mods.I talked to him, seemed pretty cool, but his truck had alum. heads,Edelbrock intake,Holley throttle body and nitrous along with other mods I can't remember. He didn't use the nitrous but my L with just pulleys,timing,460 air tube and 180 t-stat ran 9.6s this spring.I just got my 1.7 roller rockers and adj.FPR today so hopefully I can beat that time in the next couple of weeks. It was a pretty nice truck but I expected more from it with what he had done to it.

You're right, it's way too quiet around here.

You went to KD? When do they close for the season? Maybe Chris and I can stumble out there and meet up with ya now that he's walking a little better.

Trace,I think Darrel would run until Christmas if he could.I think the usual cutoff is Thanksgiving if the weather holds out.If I can get around to installing the 1.7 rollers&the adj.FPR,I want to get the L back out in the next couple of weeks.I'll give a shout if I get ready.

Is Edge Water open for practice on the 26? If so I might stop in.

KD Dragway is a little hole-in-the-wall drag strip down here in Southern Ohio. It's not fancy but it's OK.The shutdown goes uphill, not a little grade but uphill. It's 1/8 mile and there are cars running in the 5 sec.range that race there so the hill isn't as bad as it looks at first.Go to www.kddragway.com and look around.I won't make this week but I hope to get back out with the 1.7 rollers and the adj. fpr to see if I can pick up the pick up any.

It's not a fancy place but it's handy for me and racin'is racin'.I do kinda like the laid back atmosphere and I usually run about the same there as anywhere though I have had my best ETs at that track. Some people complain about the hill but I've seen too many 5 sec. cars run there to worry about it.I did have trouble with the hill last year in the Mustang,I put 28x9 MTs on it and had plenty of clearance everywhere but KD.I hit the hill on the first pass the way your supposed to,in the throttle until after you get on the hill and had serious tire rub but no damage.I messed up the next pass and let out a little too soon and put a boo-boo on the wheel well, nothing real bad but it's ugly and still kinda makes me sick when I look at it.The old Mustang is running 90 to 92 MPH in the 1/8 and with shorter tires,no problem.
