Post 64 Fairlane

The SOLO section needed some activity. There was a 64 Fairlane at Expo Ford on Labor Day weekend that was a poster car for street excess. It looked like a pristine 64 Fairlane resto. with Torq Thrust wheels, super straight body,a really nice extra sharp car.Under the hood was a 427 block with a 3.87 stroke crank, tunnel port heads,FOUR 4bbl. Holleys,TWO Powerdyne superchargers AND NITROUS!He didn't run it at the track but I heard it run at the cruise-in Sat. and it sounded sweet. That was one wicked car.I think I would have to try tearing it in two at the track with a pair of slicks, but with stock Fairlane wheel wells,I don't imagine you could get a tire that would hook.It was an extra nice car and that engine was just too much.

There were a lot of nice rides at National Trail that weekend but not enough Ls.Hope to see more trucks next year, racing in the truck class was fun.I'm going to have to e-mail Charles Crites and find out if he plans on keeping the truck class next year.I hope so.
