Exclamation Check this out from Ford!

Hi SOLO guys, hope you dont mind a MiLOC guy over here! LOL! Anyway, I received the following e-mail from "Ford". I would like to get a strong showing of trucks. PLease contact me if you are interested in attending!! Lightningsvt@mediaone.net. Looks like we need the info within 1 week. Location so far is the Ford Dearborn Proving Grounds and they assure me that no VIN will be recorded (so dont worry about your warranties).

They also want Cobra and SVT Contour owners too, so pass the word to your friends.
---------------------------------------------

I am a program manager for FCSD/TSO. We are currently developing multiple SVT training courses for dealership technicians. I have been contacting the different SVT owners groups seeking participation in this effort. Part of the course we are developing is going to cover modifications done to SVT vehicles. The intention is to video tape modifications of existing Lightning's and Cobra's and present them as part of the classroom style course for technicians. We are seeking Lightning and Cobra owners who would allow us to video tape the modifications they have done to their vehicles.

For know the intent is to gather the participants at a track or maybe the proving grounds. A video crew will be on hand to take footage of the modifications. We hope to have enough involvement that we can make a full blown SVT event out this. We are working with the SVT group and a sponsored event may be possible. The modifications we are looking for need to visible to the camera. They can be powertrain, suspension, or cosmetic. The idea is to present as much as possible. We need to try and focus our attention on the area that will produce the most modifications. We have communications out to many different groups and chapters. If this is something you feel your group may be interested in please let me know and I can contact you with more information.

Details...
----------------------------

We plan to rent Milan Drag way on Friday September 21, 2001. The tentative itinerary will be as follows; we may make changes as plans are solidified.
Track opens at 8:00 am.
Meet and greet and explain what our intentions are 8:15 - 8:45 am.
Begin filming modifications 8:45 - 10:00 am.
Open track racing 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Lunch supplied 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Open track racing 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
At 4:00 pm our day officially ends and Milan begins test and tune, which everyone is allowed to watch but will need to pay Milan to participate.

During the day we will film the modified vehicles and some racing. We will provide lunch for everyone in attendance. The SVT group has also expressed interest in doing some on camera interviews with some owners about their modifications. Once again I want to assure everyone their warranties will not be effected in anyway. If anyone still has reservations I ask them to show up at the event and listen to what we have to say. They will have a chance to question us face to face. If they still are not willing to participate they are welcome to stay for the racing. What I need at this time is an official head count. Renting the tack is based on the number of vehicles that will be running so we need to know how many serious confirmations we have. Please let me know as soon as possible. I will need a final headcount of how many plan to attend and how many plan to race by September 10, 2001.
