Post First ever SOLO gathering results

WOW! How much fun can you have? There were fast cars, purty wimmen, re-hash of WFC4 and more! The track & weather turned out to be awesome!
But I'm getting ahead of myself......first, a list of the SOLO attendees, in order of speed.........
1. Me
2. Nobody else.
No ****! Dave you named this group well. It was me, solo.
Too bad, y'all missed an awesome time. I got there at 4:55 PM, PLENTY of primo pit space, great cool temps (64 degrees) and no rain (well, I got a sprinkle about 12 miles from the track). Since I was the only L there, I ruled the track and got all the attention of the babes (seems they all LOVE them trucks).
Since I KNEW Icepick would be there, I scouted out a good pit for about 6 trucks, staked my claim, and waited.........watching all these F-bodies & 'stangs wasting perfectly good rubber. It was time for action........
See, I ain't never been racin' on a real track, so I was a little reluctant to get in the game. But, after hearing the voices in my head tell me that, sometimes, you just gotta say WTF, gopher it! So, into the staging lane I went.
Truck is BONE stock, even had 92 octane in it (always had Sunoco 94 since the day I got it), but pulled a 13.9 first pass! Score one for the big mofo!
Brimming with confidence now, I let the truck do the talkin'. After my second run, folks just started to "hang out" around the L as I let it cool down. I guess I should say that only one other truck eventually showed up, a Red '95 that Tim (if thats his REAL name) has owned for exactly 6 days.
Check this out. Stock '00 L, sub-rookie driver (me) NEVER LOST a ROUND! The best was against a '99 SVT mustang with some mods, no exhaust past headers. Spanked him by .086!
Anyway, that shows you how much competition there was. He (Bob, the boy who can't shift well) and his buddies invited me to pit with them. There were 4 other Mustangs there also. Had a blast, made new friends, kicked some ***, went home.
Dave.....these guys were at WFC, and had seen you and all the other L's run. I even let two of them drive my L for four passes, but always got excited at launch and spun the tars. I guess all that street "practice pays off.
Now, it's happy hour, and I can still hear the guy who handed out the timeslips saying...."that's 3 times you kicked his ***....he ain't real happy" Life is good.

PS. It'll be a whole lot more fun if more than me shows up next time. Trace, you are in charge (even IF you can't walk).

Hey Pothole,

Way to go man!!! Sounds like you had a good time too bad I missed it! I was on my way down and right after I got on 75 my truck decided it didn't want to go to the track today... I coasted over to the shoulder and made a half *** attempt to diagnose the problem... It was apparent that I wouldn't be fixing on the side of the highway so I had to stick out my thumb for a ride to the next exit call a friend have him pick me up go back home get a tow truck, etc etc etc... Basically a total nightmare!!!!!! I'm so pissed now that I'm going to have to fix it before Thursday so I can take it to Kil-Kare and romp the living $hit out it!!!!!!!!!

Dave....that sux! Wish I had seen you.
With my new, cockier attitude, I may try to make Kil-Kare Thurs. (IF I can scrape together gas $$$) j/k. BUT, I do halfta do the oil change thing before I go.......almost 3K miles on the beast.
Oh, hey......how do you get all that melted F1 out from under the rear wells?

DAMMIT! I totally knew it was raining there. Hell, it's been raining here all freaking day!

Ugly weekend, maybe tomorrow will be nice enough to allow my tomato plants some sun.

With any luck, I could be back in action ON RADIALS, IN THE SLOW CAR in the next couple weeks, we'll see. My fingers are so very crossed.

Sorry guys, I guess I was wrong. WTF is up with this weather anyhow? Is this a normal Ohio thing? I've been gone so long I don't remember.

Tim......it was nice to meet you and the missus. Real pretty truck you got there. (I was just kidding about your name) But I could tell by the look in your eyes that once the shine wears off a little, you'll be out there on the track.
Glad to see you found the SOLO group so fast!

Cool

TIM
THAT IS WHAT I SAID ABOUT MY LIGHTNING WHEN I GOT IT LAST OCTOBER. I WAS JUST GOING TO USE IT TO TOW MY MUSTANG, I'AM STILL NOT GOING TO MODIFY THE ENGINE ALOT BUT I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE BUG TO RACE IT. I DID NOT HAVE MY EITHER ONE OF MY MUSTANGS BACK TOGETHER SO AFTER I GOT MINE BACK FROM GETTING FLAMES PAINTED ON IT AND A NEW HOOD I RACED IT IN STREET LIGHTNING AT WFC4 IT WAS'NT REAL FAST 15:65 AT 85MPH BUT I HAD A BLAST. IF I DON'T GET MY 91 GT DONE FOR NORWALK FFW I WILL PROBABLY RUN THE LIGHTNING IN TOP TRUCK JUST FOR THE FUN.

Well,if the weather holds up I'm going to Kanawha Valley Raceway Friday night for test&tune. It is on US35 a few miles across the Ohio River from Gallipolis Ohio.I think G Force runs there,it is a pretty nice 1/8 mile track, maybe I'll see G Force.Thier website is www.kanrace.com

r93lightning,how about it? I knew you wouldn't be able to stay off the track with the truck.

Well,I went to the little hole in the wall KD Dragway last night cause I checked Kanawha Valley's web site and they were doing something else beside thier regular test and tune. The only thing I've done since the last time is the full Bassani system. The last time at the track was March 11 and I wore a long sleeve shirt all day and last night it was pretty warm.My best in March was 9.62@71.4 and last night's best was 9.64@71.7.MPH was up some with a best of 72.1 and worst of 71.7.Back in March the MPH went from 71.2 to 71.4.
