Post $95 R-compound tires

It looks like TireRack still has BF Goodrich G-Force tires (R-compound autocross/roadrice tire) available in 275/40/18 for $95 each. These tires have been discontinued, and TireRack is just trying to get rid of them.

This size is maybe an inch or so skinnier than the stock F1's, but I'm sure they still provide better grip. At under $100 apiece, they'd be great to flog at an autocross or road course if you have a set of stock wheels laying around collecting dust.

Here is the link for pricing.

If I didn't have to buy new snow tires and wheels, and I didn't have to buy tires for my racecar, I would consider them.

I've got 4 of them and used them at the last SVT ontrack event. They're pretty good and you cant beat the price. I'd skip the tire-rack's heat cycling though. The last set of heat-cycled tires I ordered from them were a little overdone and they had burned off a full wear level or more. I heat-cycled them myself this time and i'm not noticing any more extreme wear (plus, I've got more tire depth to start with now)

just an fyi ...
