Don't sweat the gibberish. All you need to do to tune is open the software and change what you want. As you get more comfortable then a lot of this other stuff will make sense.

Hey guys this is great! the more of us that use a tuner the better it will be

And if anyone needs help I will share what I have learned so far and will share my tuner files so everyone can see the changes I've made in the quest to go as fast as I possibly can

As of this afternoon, mine's installed now. However, I have not monkeyed with anything as I discovered a rusted-out brake line. Spent the rest of the afternoon fixing that instead.

Will be playing with the 'Tuner tomorrow night.

Later,

Hey Raymond, Any chance this could be an "under the christmas tree item". I have the week of Christmas off and it would be a get time to get to know my truck and the computer.

You've got the basic bolt ons, but if more are to come (especially a power adder) then yes a Tuner would be a good choice If you are going to stay where you are now then there are some gains to be had, but to be honest your money might be better spent on things like pulley's or a good converter.

Actually you don't turn it back to an eec file. You just download with the GUI. If you have a datalog payload just make a file with Shiftmaster software called extra.eec and place it in the GUI directory, usually found in C:\Program Files\GUIEECTuner When you make that file be sure not to put ALL or END or any processor codes just copy the datalogging addresses.

Basically the GUI "looks" for the extra.eec each time you tell it to download to the Tuner and will send whatever you have in that file to the Tuner along with the items you changed in the GUI.

Also if you have the GUI installed make sure to go to the files section of my mailing list and get the latest .exe file for the GUI. Download it then rename it to GUIEECVT.exe and replace the one you have.

Hi Rod, Mike is talking about datalogging a different vehicle than a Lightning. Really all I was telling him to do was create a file and put it in a certain folder. Until I get datalogging going for the Lightning's we don't have to worry about it.
