Post Questions, questions, questions

Hey Raymond, I've got a 95 L that is about at the end of the mods sheet for what you can do with the stock speed density. If I take the shims out of the intake side 1.7 roller lifters it goes nuts for example. I like and somewhat understand the ecc tuner but my ? is how tuneable is it with the wide band O2 sensor. I understand how a wide band works but I have never used one or read anything indepth about tuning with one. I know it won't get as close as a dyno or track time for making the best power but I would think it's better than the seat of the pants tuning. But how much better. My mods now include 1/2 long tubes, edelbrock heads, 1.7 rockers, somewhat ported intake with spacer, NOS shot. It can run a 12.5 in good air on a 125 shot but from the look of the plugs it's getting alittle lean. Any info you can throw my way sure would help. Thanks Raymond

Actually tuning with a wideband on the street can be even more effective than a dyno. Why ? Well you do not do the majority of your driving at WOT, bolted to rollers, and a big fan on the grille

A wideband and an EEC-Tuner make a VERY powerfull combo !

Have you tried raising your fuel pressure to help richen it up ? I'm trying to remember when I had the NOS 5115 kit on my truck, isn't there a shim or something that can be changed to bump up the fuel pressure under WOT ?

Thanks,
Raymond

Thanks for the reply Raymond. I'm not really having a problem on the juice because I can adjust the wet system with bottle pressure or a jet (I always fatten it too much with the jets). I have noticed that the plugs are awful white after a WOT run on the motor. Turning up the fuel pressure more seems to mess up the idle and driveability but maybe some of it is in my head on the driveability. I would love to have the wide band but the Christmas list is full and I think the ecc tuner is already on that list. For the mean time, how well do the normal o2 setups (summit, jegs, etc.) work as far tuning with the ecc tuner. Are they helpful or just too slow to be helpful. Thanks Raymond, Later Jeremy
