Post EEC - Tuners

I think I got the right forum now Do you have one that will work for my stock 94' computer? I don't want to start swapping computers. I have a Kenne-Bell switch chip which could use some upgrades, but I like having the switch chip, can I keep the chip so I have two settings, or will I have to eliminate the chip? Where is the computer that I need to find on my truck? Does the tuner mount on the truck, or do you just make the modifications and pull it back out? These are just a few of my questions since I'm not very knowledgeable about the computer stuff. Thank you for your time - Brian

Hi Brian, sorry somehow I missed this post. An EEC-Tuner plugs into the J-3 service port of your computer (just like a chip). So you would not be able to use both at once. You will have to leave it connected for it to work. Basically I guess you could think of it as a re programmable chip.

Thank you, I'm not real good with computers. I've read as much of the info. I can on the website, but some of it is still over my head. How hard is it to run some simple programming? Things I would want to do would be compensate for bigger injectors, change shift firmness of my trans., compensate for other mods, that sort of thing. Thanks - Brian

Brian, at first everyone thinks they have to know a lot about computers Then after getting it all hooked up they realize that what is intimidating is the shear number of things that can be changed and what they mean.

Your approach is right on target, get the thing hooked up and try some basic stuff first, shift firmness, injector slope (size), a bit of timing, etc. That way you will get used to the software and how everything works. If you can work a mouse and keyboard your pretty much set Like I said the computer part is easy.

What info. do I need to order one? How much? How long would it take to get one? Can I send you my kenne-bell chip and have you program the info. from the chip into the tuner so I have somewhere to start? Thanks - Brian

First we need to know what computer you have. You can look for the sticker on your driver's side door jamb or on the computer itself.

Tuner's run 369.00 + shipping or 349.00 + shipping for NLOC members. I have plenty of them in stock so whenever you need it let me know

Yes you can send me your chip and I'll make a file for you to use that matches the chip to get started.

Well I'm not sure exactly when, if me and Kyle get some things working I'd like to come down and meet everyone. I definitely hope to run in the next FFW there.

I found out I got the c3p2 processor which you said wasn't working well with the tuner. Oh well, back to the drawing board

Hopefully I can figure out why. The older Tuners have no problems it's just the latest upgrade that caused problems. I will keep looking. You could also find a later model processor (ICY1) and swap it. Nothing changes it's just a simple swap.

John, I might be down there sooner just gotta get some of my backlog O' projects taken care of
