FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS
Dark smoke can be seen rising from the roof of the Empress Casino in southwst suburban Joliet on Friday morning.
Fire trucks, police and ambulance personnel are on the scene at 2300 Empress Drive, just off U.S. 6 after a fire was reported in the kitchen of the facility.

A spokeswoman for the Joliet Fire Dept. said the fire was reported in a section of the casino which is under construction, but had no further details.

Early dispatch reports indicate the kitchen fire has spread to the ceiling and that a second fire was burning in a building at Barber Court and Black Road, where the roof has reportedly collapsed.

The spokeswoman had no reports of injuries as of 10:30 a.m.

I'm sure whatever damage it has it will be repaired by the time we get there. Accidents happen looks like it was in the new construction area.

As of now (six hours later) it’s still burning!
The casino “river boat” itself is not on fire but the support building is.
They say the fire keeps traveling horizontally through false ceilings.

The hotel is actually across the huge parking several hundred feet or more away.

Casino fire under control, officials say - Chicago Breaking News

Hotel itself is fine...
though they might be a little touchy about burnouts in the parking lot

If you look at the satellite view you will see how far away the hotel is from the casino.
The hotel is the building to the upper left of the complex and the RV park is just to the right of the hotel.

You guys should be good to go at the hotel still. Like Will said the hotel is on the other side of the parking lot.

Talking

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby,

You have a one track, oops, two track mind.

Remember, we wont have Andre and Marc to assist in quenching our thirsts.
