How do I place a picture on a thread?

Can someone can tell me how to insert a photo from my digital camera on to a thread? Does it have to do with attachments, or links? Are links from the web? Please be very specific with your reply because I am a "Novice" at best with the computer.

You need to host the pic on the web. If you are a member of nloc you can put it in your gallery and then link to it from there.

Buy a membership, or get a photobucket account. Membership will allow you to have your pictures hosted by the site. www.photobucket.com is a site that will host your pics as well. (there are other sites that will host pics too) After you have done one of those options, then copy the link and type [img][/img]. Insert the link in between the ] and the [.

you dont have to be a member to post a pic....

you can upload them directly to the thread if it meets picture size and file size limits.....

Go to advanced a the bottom of quick reply box....next select the Paperclip Icon on the next window that pops up..then select browse, find the image on your comp and then select upload....If the pic is no bigger than 640x480 and the file size is 100k or under then it will work......

You need to be a paid member to have a photo gallery and thus link to photos there with the [IMG] process....and post pics larger than 640x480 and larger file sizzes

Or host pics off site and link with [img] process...and post pics larger than 640x480 and larger file sizes.

Hello friend. Hopefully I can help you out here. I'm not sure how "novice" you are here, so I'll try to make it pretty easily understood.

You need to go to photobucket.com, and create an account. After that, sign in, and click "upload images." It will open a window where you can upload any picture file from your computer onto the web. When this is done, you can go to your gallery on photobucket and view these pics. Go to the screen where you can see all your pics that you've uploaded - the screen where you can click on an individual pic. On that screen...the screen where you have the OPTION of clicking on the thumbnail to make it bigger, you will see the text boxes below the thumbnail. Click the lowest text box and it will highlight that whole text then click ctrl+c (copy). This is a pic of the boxes. Click the text box that the red arrow is pointing at.

Once you've copied that, go to your forum where you want to post the pic and press ctrl+v (paste), then you have that pic in the thread.
