New from the Lou.

Native Saint Louisian here, displaced to the burbs of Saint Charles County, off the page extension. Looking for locals to hang with with simular interest.

My search for a lightning has been long and tiresome and I have as of this date not aquired one in my price range and color want (no Red). I have a line on a white 99 (Fingers Crossed) that I should be getting this weekend. Fifth times a charm?

Some questions.....

Why does my Firefox spell corrector not work in this forum?
How do I decode my VIN for the build date and **** of 4000 number?
Can the certificate that you get with a new Lightning be updated with your name, instead of the orginal buyer?
and Finally, is it, or is it not OK to drive to another state and wickedly beat a man and his dog when they promised you their Lightning, yet sold it from under you and failed to tell you till you call, lost from a parking lot in his home town, after a 4 and a half hour trip?

First off, welcome. Like your recent choice of vehicles. I bought mine in March, and the smile is still on my face!! Hope the "fifth times a charm" for you. Good luck! Not being computer literate, can't answer your spell check question. I do know that there is no name on SVT certificate. Goes by vin#. Build number and date are also on there. Hope this helps a little, and again good luck on your recent find.Took me a while to find mine , but after owning and driving mine for five months I'm so glad I didn't give up.

Good decision. You will love the vehicle. It's a habit you can't kick though.
To get the build # just Give them a call at 1-800-367-3788. They'll ask for your vin number.
Good luck.

I did, have had it for a little under two weeks. I am impressed right out of the box, seems well balanced for a truck. Ride height is a bit high for me though. Lowering will be done soon, after I figure out where all this oil is coming from in the after market air box. I hope it's just someone who hosed down the K&N with a recharge kit.
