| NerfBat Warrior | New Lightning owner? Hello, gang... I am about to purchase one of three 1994 Lightnings. I have the money for the 2001-up trucks....I honestly just can't get that excited about them. I do have some questions, if someone has the time for a few answers.... 1. Towing: what can I realistically get away with, with this truck? I wish to tow a few ATV's (smaller ones in the 300-350 CC range, along with one Tri-Z 250 three-wheeler, not the newer behemoth Jeeps with handlebars) and a couple of dirt bikes occasionally, on a small, fairly light two-axle trailer, and quite possibly a SN95-body mustang, to the track. The mustang is in question right now, but is this the wrong truck? In addition, I have been told that this frame is actually somehow lighter in duty than a standard short-bed F150 frame....any truth in this statement? 2. Road course usage....does anyone here actually screw around on a road course with these trucks? Are these trucks that far above and beyond a standard F-150, or are they just an F-150 with big tires and wheels? I am not expecting to out-corner a corvette, I would just like something different to take to track day. 3. Pepsi or Coke? 4. Brake and or suspension/lowering upgrades? Anything available? 5. Boxers or Briefs? 6. The best single bang for the buck power upgrade? I wish to dust a friend's fairly stock 1997 cobra with it eventually, lol. Any suggestions, or this being moved to an appropriate room if necessary, would be appreciated.... |
