Hey guys/gals; I was referred to this site by another member and from the looks of it, I might learn a lot from this site. Unfortunately I don't own any Lightnings, but I do own two Ford trucks. My daily driver is a 1992 Ford Ranger super cab with a 3.0L V6 and a 5-speed. My other truck is my permanent project; it's a 1953 Ford F-250. I bought this truck from my father 15 yrs. ago with hopes of resto-rodding it one day. I am still waiting, but in the meanwhile I have other projects that I can actually complete. I joined this forum to gather some information on a 1st gen. Lightning engine build for my mom's '86 Crown Victoria. The only (main) difference with the engine build is that I am going to use an F4TE block that was built for hydraulic roller cams. Other than that I am going to build it like a modded Lightning engine. I just need specific information like books that deal with building these engines (I got one book by Pat Ganahl that features build-ups of all Ford engine famlies except the flathead). I will make threads about my questions in the tech forums though. Here are some pics of the trucks and my Crown Vic project.
