12 Second LOGO prototype

Ok, don't laugh too hard, but this is my feeble attempt at a 12 Second ET club NLOC logo...lemme know what you think. I'm definately not gifted in the graphic arts department so this thing is rough as a cob, but gives the general impression I'm trying to achieve.

If I had some more time I'd adjust the Lightning logo and text downward a bit and possibly use another font for the text...but I thought it'd be ok for a quick peek. If you all like it I'd submit it to Jerry and see what he says (its his logo, I'm just prototyping a few to see if there's any interest)...

no flames here. how about changing the wording on the outside of the crest to read "MKLO" on top and "lighting owners" around the bottom just my 02.

or put MKLO on top and "12 Second Club" across the bottom and just leave the Lightning oval logo blank with just the logo

When you guys say "put MKLO on the outside" do you mean "MKLO" or "Missouri-Kansas Lightning Owners"?

Howz about this... Put "Missouri Kansas" across the top where National is now.

The "Owner's Club" across the bottom would remain the same.

I like the regular MKLO decals. The problem is they are 'full'...no free space to put in the 12 Second ET text.

Let's keep the dialog rolling!

Oh, almost forgot. Jerry Hart replied and said he didn't have a problem with us using it. He mentioned that he thought the decals would be in the neighborhood of $5.00 each due to a small quantity (~100?). He said he wouldn't be interested in doing it himself due to the limited use and high cost.

well theres not much point of doing it if the sticker doesnt say MKLO on it since its the MKLO 12 second club, right?

Roger, since I have the original mklo files on my computer, do you mind if I work on it a little - maybe I can come up with something that would include both?

Ok, here's my latest version of a "proposed" 12-Second Club decal. It may not be doable exactly as-is, but I should be able to get very close. Roger, Shane, Neil et al - comments please.

I like what you have done, but I think that we need to go more original than replicating the national logo! JMO....I had an Idea but have no way to try to produce it, so I guess thats out!

Vern. It's coming along nicely. Personally I'd like to see the same font as the 12 second ET used around the perimeter for the Missouri Kansas part. The word CLUB is very hard to discern in the bottom corner.

Personally I like the similarity between the MKLO and the national emblem...after all we are the Missouri-Kansas affiliate, are we not? I mean, we exist here on the national board, right?

Yeah but unless your 15 foot away and can read what is written, it looks like you have 2 identical stickers on your truck, most likely close to each other!!!!! JMO......

After getting it all done and lined up, and then really looking at it I had the same concerns with the font that you did, Roger. I also considered what Shane said. He has a point, it's just that we have permission to use the nloc logo from the prez, and we are part of the larger organization.

Also, it will be more doable (and cheaper) if we use the same font throughout. I wanted to see how it looked after I posted it, and see what you guys think. Let me work on it a little more, I may be able to come up with something somewhat different than the nloc, but still look like what we want it to.

how bout a color change maybe red in place of the blue just to make it stand out. or make the wording on the out side red.. just my 02..

Guys, here's another idea. This would be easy to get done, inexpensive, and would be a little different. What you see here are 2 examples of what the decals would look like if they were "stamped" 12 SECOND ET. I could get the "12 SECOND ET" lettering made with a transparent background so it could be laid over the mklo or nloc logo. Remember, this is just an idea.

Actually, I like that Idea a tad better than anything I have seen yet! But would the sticker still be oval shaped and the "12 second club" would hang off the oval??
